Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ares Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ares Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Johnson! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A cross from Johnson lands. Johnson wants to clinch up but Summers keeps it at a distance. Summers swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw. Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Summers slips under a jab from Johnson. Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Summers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Summers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Summers stops Johnson from standing up. Summers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Johnson has Summers up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Johnson lands a nice knee to the body. A right hook to the body lands for Johnson.

Summers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Johnson's half guard. Summers prevents Johnson from standing back up.
Summers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Summers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Summers is trying to work for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

Summers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson pushes Summers off looking to stand but Summers dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Summers is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Summers content to control rather than advance. Summers wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Summers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Johnson pushes Summers off looking to stand but Summers dives back in and keeps control.

Summers uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Summers swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Johnson is now in Summers's guard. A big mistake from Summers there, giving up the dominant position! Summers is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Summers working a defensive guard here.
Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Summers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Summers looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Summers has his hands on Johnson's head, controlling the position. Summers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ares Summers will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Steve Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Summers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Johnson tries to clinch up but Summers circles away and keeps his distance. Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson is breathing heavily. Summers keeps the fight on the outside. Summers fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Summers blocks a head kick by Johnson.

Summers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Summers lands in his opponent's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Summers forces his way into half guard. Summers seems to be looking for submissions.

Summers looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Summers moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Johnson has worked his arm free - good work by Johnson!
Summers misses with the ground and pound. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Summers is dominant here and he's now got Johnson's back! Summers has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Johnson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Summers gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ares Summers!
