Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michaelangelo Van Der Poel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Develen Elvington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Der Poel comes to the cage accompanied by Potemkin City limits. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Develen Elvington was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Der Poel swinging wildly here.
Van Der Poel misses with a two punch combination.
Van Der Poel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elvington was well out of range. Poor timing from Van Der Poel. A right-left combo lands from Van Der Poel.
It looks like Develen Elvington has been cut. Van Der Poel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Elvington at a distance.
Van Der Poel is looking to score with low kicks. Elvington takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Elvington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Van Der Poel moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Van Der Poel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Elvington takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Elvington is looking to chop away at Van Der Poel's legs. Elvington fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Elvington bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. The fighters circling - Van Der Poel throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Van Der Poel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Van Der Poel throws a good cross that connects.
Michaelangelo Van Der Poel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Elvington as Van Der Poel shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elvington thuds a left hand into Van Der Poel's body. Van Der Poel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Elvington working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Van Der Poel keeping full guard, as Elvington tries to pass. Van Der Poel wants to stand but Elvington is controlling the position. Van Der Poel is breathing heavily. Elvington postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Van Der Poel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Elvington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Der Poel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Van Der Poel wants to stand and escape but Elvington is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elvington with a flurry of punches that miss.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Elvington looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Der Poel is just out of range. Van Der Poel misses with a hook. Elvington ducked under it nicely. Van Der Poel misses the body punch and Elvington counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Van Der Poel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Elvington, right into the meat.
Van Der Poel needs to keep his hands up - Elvington had a free shot at his head there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Elvington's corner calls for a 1-2. Elvington obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Elvington bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Elvington swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Elvington tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Van Der Poel misses with a looping right. Elvington scores with a nice head shot. Elvington connects with a single shot there. Elvington is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Van Der Poel's half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Der Poel looks like he's trying to stand up.
Elvington working over Van Der Poel with some ground and pound. Van Der Poel looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Elvington scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Elvington has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Van Der Poel is in trouble now - Elvington has advanced to mount! A nice elbow there by Elvington. Elvington putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Elvington connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Van Der Poel is trying to stand up. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Elvington breaks from Van Der Poel's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Van Der Poel is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Elvington with shots to the head and body - Van Der Poel looks very uncomfortable down there. Elvington landing strikes, looking to finish! Oh Van Der Poel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Elvington unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Van Der Poel wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Elvington celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
