Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between El Raton Vaquero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, El Raton Vaquero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Charles Azevedo!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo connects with a single shot there.

Vaquero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Vaquero is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vaquero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Azevedo is just riding it out for now. Vaquero eventually gives up the hold.

Vaquero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Azevedo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vaquero.

Vaquero is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Azevedo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vaquero pulls his head out easily.

Azevedo wants to get back to full guard.
Azevedo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Vaquero trying to control the action but Azevedo is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vaquero trying to pass the guard but Azevedo defending well.
Azevedo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Vaquero throws a big right hand that misses.
Vaquero passes Azevedo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Azevedo manages to get to full guard.

Vaquero drops back looking for a leg! Azevedo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Azevedo manages to kick Vaquero off! Vaquero jumps back into Azevedo's guard.

Azevedo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vaquero off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Azevedo swinging wildly here.
Azevedo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
El Raton Vaquero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Vaquero with that takedown attempt.
Vaquero shoots in for a double leg but Azevedo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Azevedo connects with a body shot.
Azevedo misses with a wild combination.

Vaquero throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Azevedo was covering up waiting for the punch and Vaquero finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vaquero trying to control the position from guard on top but Azevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Azevedo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vaquero defends it easily.

Azevedo keeping full guard, as Vaquero tries to pass.

Azevedo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Vaquero is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vaquero tries to free his leg and advance position but Azevedo is retaining full guard.

Vaquero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vaquero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Vaquero drops back looking for a leg! Azevedo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Azevedo manages to kick Vaquero off! Vaquero jumps back into Azevedo's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Azevedo thows a body shot but no joy.
Azevedo cracks Vaquero with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Azevedo throws a nice looking combination but Vaquero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice sprawl there from Azevedo as Vaquero shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for El Raton Vaquero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vaquero rushes Azevedo and presses him up against the cage.
Azevedo wants to break free but Vaquero has control.
Vaquero goes for a takedown in the clinch but Azevedo prevents it.
Come on Azevedo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Vaquero has Azevedo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Azevedo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Azevedo wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Charles Azevedo will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Vaquero closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Vaquero with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Azevedo to score with a decent uppercut.
Azevedo thuds his right hand into Vaquero's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Azevedo lands a nice looking body shot.
Azevedo throws a right hand that Vaquero ducks under and follows up with a left that Vaquero also avoids with ease.
Vaquero lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Azevedo circles away quickly and effectively.
Vaquero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Azevedo is fending him off so far but Vaquero persists. Nope, Azevedo circles away and we're back to standing.
Azevedo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vaquero has time to react.
Azevedo swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Vaquero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Azevedo is keeping the position for now.
Azevedo is trying to control the position but Vaquero postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vaquero slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Vaquero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vaquero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Azevedo tries to bench press Vaquero off him but Vaquero keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Azevedo gets back to half guard.
Azevedo is looking to improve his position.

Vaquero seems to be looking for submissions.
Azevedo tries to roll over but Vaquero keeps him under control.

Vaquero seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Azevedo has recovered full guard.

Vaquero thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vaquero prevents Azevedo from getting back to his feet.
Azevedo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vaquero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vaquero trying to control but Azevedo is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Vaquero is looking to chop away at Azevedo's legs.
No joy there for Azevedo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Azevedo lands a body shot.
Vaquero shoots in for a takedown but Azevedo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vaquero keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Azevedo.
Azevedo misses with a double jab

and Vaquero counters with a shoot takedown. Azevedo fights it but they end up in guard.

Vaquero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vaquero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Azevedo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Azevedo looking for a guillotine here but Vaquero defends easily.

Azevedo is looking for a triangle but Vaquero pushes his legs off easily.
Azevedo is trying to keep Vaquero in close.
Vaquero passes into half guard.

Vaquero looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Azevedo is looking for a sweep. Vaquero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vaquero is keen to just control but Azevedo is a slippery customer.
Azevedo tries to get to full guard but Vaquero has control of the leg.
Azevedo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Vaquero moves nicely into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Vaquero wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Azevedo, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that El Raton Vaquero will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Vaquero is working to tighten is grip on Azevedo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Azevedo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Vaquero is really squeezing tight and eventually Azevedo passes out! Vaquero breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
