Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chip McAllister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Walhead! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McAllister closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. McAllister decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McAllister keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Walhead gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McAllister counters with a takedown into side control. Walhead is letting McAllister control him for a moment. McAllister throws an elbow but Walhead slips to the side and avoids it well. McAllister controlling the position. Walhead is looking for a sweep. McAllister decides to stand back up. McAllister steps back and let's Walhead get back to his feet. Walhead looks to clinch and McAllister counters with a single leg into guard. Walhead didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. McAllister decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McAllister tries to clinch but Walhead moves out of range. McAllister throws a right and a left that Walhead avoids nicely. Walhead misses with a takedown and McAllister counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McAllister. McAllister seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Walhead really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McAllister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McAllister seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Walhead for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McAllister drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. McAllister seems to have locked his on tight now - Walhead screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for McAllister, as he picks up the win!
