PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Dunne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthews has chosen Falling Away From Me by Korn as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Dunne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, AJ Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch but Dunne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matthews looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Matthews doesn't manage to clinch there - Dunne circles away.
Matthews misses with a jab, cross combination.
Some wild striking there from Matthews.

Dunne throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matthews was covering up waiting for the punch and Dunne finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dunne postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matthews takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Dunne postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Matthews pushes Dunne away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dunne gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Dunne decides to stand back up. Dunne steps back and let's Matthews get back to his feet.

Dunne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dunne is working Matthews over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Matthews working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dunne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dunne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Dunne has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
