Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Dutra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Valdema Severino! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Severino. Severino blocks a jab. Dutra closes the distance and pushes Severino back into the cage. Dutra has Severino pressed against the cage.
Dutra with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Dutra tries a knee to the head but Severino blocks it.

Dutra misses with a knee strike.
Dutra tries to land knees in the clinch but Severino avoids the damage to the body. Severino drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dutra gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dutra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dutra defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Severino. Daniel Dutra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valdema Severino. Jab from Dutra. Dutra fails in his attempt to clinch. Dutra fails with the takedown and Severino counters with a single leg into guard. Dutra didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Severino working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dutra looking to control but Severino passes into half guard.
Dutra wants to get back to full guard. Dutra regains full guard. Nicely done. Severino stops Dutra from standing up. Severino is stalling in the full guard. Severino won't allow Dutra to sweep him here. Severino's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dutra wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Severino stands up over Dutra, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Severino working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dutra's head. Dutra is breathing heavily. Severino cracks Dutra with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Severino forces his way into half guard. Dutra on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Dutra wants to improve his position but Severino is controlling well.
Severino has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dutra is working hard here to advance position. Severino maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Dutra could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Severino has cracked it and Dutra is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Severino!
