Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Sucre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sucre has chosen Capital Punishment as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Render! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando Sucre! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sucre connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Render slips under a jab from Sucre. Sucre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Render circles away quickly and effectively. Sucre scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A punch combination from Sucre misses. Sucre moves out of range of the strikes. Sucre ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sucre keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Render feints and as Sucre raises his hands in defense, Render changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Render wants to stand but Sucre is controlling his posture from full guard. Sucre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Render is one step ahead there. Render postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Render stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sucre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sucre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sucre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sucre looking for a guillotine from mount but Render is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Render regains half guard. Sucre trying to mount his opponent but Render defends it. Render works his way to full guard. Good work. Render is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sucre is controlling him. Sucre wants to control from the top but Render keeps moving. Render trying to strike off his back.
Sucre drops back looking for a leg! Render is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Render manages to kick Sucre off! Sucre jumps back into Render's guard. Render is looking to stand up but Sucre isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sucre drops Render with a beautiful combination! Render stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sucre is looking for the KO!
Render is rocked! Sucre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Render circles away quickly and effectively. Oh Render is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Render scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sucre in his tracks. Render seems to have got his legs back now. Render explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Sucre throws a series of punches but Render avoids them all with ease. Sucre slips under a jab from Render. Nice defenses there by Render. Sucre throws a right hand that Render ducks under and follows up with a left that Render also avoids with ease. Sucre throws a series of punches but Render moves out of range. Sucre looks gassed! Render scores with a takedown into Sucre's guard. Render has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sucre tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sucre is working an open guard so Render takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Sucre throws the left hand but Render avoids the punch easily. A jab from Render misses. Sucre throws a nice looking combination but Render bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Render closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sucre is staying active underneath Render, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sucre wants to improve his position but Render is controlling well.
Sucre looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Render decides to return to a standing position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. No joy there for Sucre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Render shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sucre manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Render would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chris Render will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Render shoots in and bounces Sucre off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Render wants to get up but he can't break Sucre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Render decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Render shoots in and drives through. Sucre sprawls well.

That's better than Render was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Render prevents Sucre from getting the reversal. Render lands a big elbow. Sucre regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Render is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Render not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Render trying to control the action but Sucre is working from the bottom. Sucre gets full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sucre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Render is one step ahead there. Render stands up and waves to Sucre to follow him.

Render is aware though and is defending well. Render wanted to stand there but Sucre had control of the position. Render trying to control but Sucre is working from the bottom. And that's the end of the fight! Chris Render showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Render, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
