The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sterner misses with a series of wild punches.
ThePresent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. ThePresent moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Clay Sterner has been cut. ThePresent showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sterner.

TheFuture ThePresent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. ThePresent tries to clinch but fails miserably and Sterner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Sterner ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. ThePresent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. ThePresent tries for a takedown but Sterner circles away easily and Sterner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for ThePresent! Sterner controlling the pace for now. ThePresent pulls Sterner in close to his closed guard and prevents Sterner from doing any damage or advancing position. Sterner working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sterner trying to control the action but ThePresent is working from the bottom. An elbow from Sterner crashes against the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. ThePresent closes the distance and clinches. ThePresent lands a nice knee to the body. ThePresent stops a takedown attempt from Sterner.
ThePresent gets control of Sterner's arms and successfully pulls guard. ThePresent will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Sterner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. ThePresent swivels though and keeps the full guard. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. ThePresent darts in and clinches Sterner up against the cage. ThePresent drags the fight down to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. ThePresent keeping moving, preventing Sterner from controlling successfully. Sterner wanted to stand there but ThePresent had control of the position. ThePresent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sterner manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clay Sterner. I think Sterner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
