Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Robertson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Oishi Yoshio! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson fails to land with a series of punches.
Robertson works Yoshio's body with a nice hook. Robertson throws an overhand right that lands on Yoshio's shoulder, as Yoshio tries to avoid the shot. Yoshio blocks a leg kick. Robertson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yoshio's hands. Robertson throws a hook but Yoshio avoids it easily. George Robertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robertson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yoshio. Robertson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yoshio misses with a leg kick and Robertson counters with a stiff right hand. Robertson wants to clinch up but Yoshio keeps it at a distance. Yoshio connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Yoshio throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Robertson sees it coming and avoids it easily. That was a close round but I would say that George Robertson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Oishi Yoshio's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
