Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Borris Khalidov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Kliment! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kliment tries to clinch but Khalidov moves out of range. Kliment throws a sloppy head kick and Khalidov moves out of range easily. Khalidov gets a clinch. Khalidov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kliment can't fight it off and eventually Khalidov manages to take the fight to the floor. Kliment looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kliment looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khalidov is one step ahead there. Kliment working a defensive guard here.
Khalidov looking to sit in guard and control but Kliment gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kliment looking to pass the guard. Khalidov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kliment on the ground. Khalidov looking for a sweep. Not yet Khalidov, not yet. Kliment content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kliment drops back looking for a leg! Khalidov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Khalidov manages to kick Kliment off! Kliment jumps back into Khalidov's guard. Kliment wants to control from the top but Khalidov keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kliment connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kliment gets caught flat footed, as Khalidov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Khalidov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kliment looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khalidov is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khalidov is pushing down on Kliment's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kliment is fighting to maintain full guard but Khalidov has managed to sneak the leg through. Khalidov lands strikes from half guard. Kliment is trying to maintain the position but Khalidov is very close to passing his half guard. Khalidov controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khalidov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kliment with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kliment is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kliment trying to hold on to Khalidov's head to control him but Khalidov postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kliment actively working from the bottom here. Kliment looks gassed! Khalidov is figuring out what he wants to do next. Khalidov seems to be working for a kimura but Kliment defends the submission attempt. Khalidov trying to mount his opponent but Kliment defends it. Kliment is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Khalidov pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Khalidov tries to pass to full mount but Kliment defends it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Khalidov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Khalidov clinches. Khalidov tries to work over Kliment's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Khalidov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kliment regains guard immediately. Khalidov wants to get up but he can't break Kliment's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Khalidov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kliment's guard. Khalidov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khalidov wants to clinch. Kliment throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Khalidov takes a kick to the side of the head. Kliment misses with a two punch combination.
Kliment looks to land a combination but Khalidov avoids it well. Khalidov moves into the clinch. Khalidov drags the fight down to the ground.
Khalidov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Khalidov uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Khalidov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Khalidov passes the guard and advances to mount! Kliment is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khalidov controlling his opponent. Khalidov looking to control but Kliment is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Khalidov working away from the top, dropping strikes. Kliment is squirming around, avoiding Khalidov's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Khalidov goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kliment is on top in guard.

Kliment wants to control from the top but Khalidov keeps moving. Khalidov seems keen to control Kliment's posture. Khalidov wants to stand and escape but Kliment is having none of it. Kliment tries to free his leg and advance position but Khalidov is retaining full guard. Khalidov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Khalidov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Khalidov tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Khalidov shoots in and bounces Kliment off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kliment looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Khalidov is pushing down on Kliment's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kliment is fighting to maintain full guard but Khalidov has managed to sneak the leg through. Khalidov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Khalidov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kliment for as long as he can get away with. Khalidov wants to pass the guard but Kliment is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khalidov lands with a punch from half guard. Kliment is refusing to be controlled, as Khalidov sits in half guard. Khalidov slips a nice elbow through Kliment's hands, connecting with Kliment's forehead. Kliment tries to get to full guard but Khalidov has control of the leg. Khalidov performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Khalidov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kliment tries to clinch but Khalidov is having none of it. Khalidov swats away the attempt to clinch by Kliment. Kliment throws a head kick but Khalidov moves out of range.
Kliment dives in and grabs Khalidov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Khalidov pushes down on Kliment's head and hops out. Khalidov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Khalidov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Khalidov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kliment takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Borris Khalidov just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Kliment fails with the takedown and Khalidov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kliment tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Khalidov in particular looking to stall. Kliment trying to control but Khalidov postures up.
Khalidov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Khalidov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Khalidov is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Khalidov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Khalidov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Dimitri Kliment has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Khalidov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Borris Khalidov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Khalidov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Khalidov lands in his opponent's guard. Khalidov controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Borris Khalidov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Khalidov, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
