PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between pete peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Fury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, pete peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Fury!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury throws a sloppy head kick and peterson moves out of range easily.
Fury lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as peterson backs up against the cage.

peterson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than peterson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
peterson punishing his opponent with strikes.

peterson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

peterson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
peterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
peterson lands a heavy elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
peterson looking to finish Fury with some ground and pound. This is bad for Fury!

Fury wants to control but peterson is having none of it.
Fury is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fury is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fury is just holding on here. peterson manages to take his back.

peterson tries to keep control of the position but Fury is staying busy.
peterson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
peterson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fury.

peterson is trying to stick to Fury's back but Fury is turning into peterson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in peterson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fury.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fury being controlled here momentarily.
Fury wants to stand but peterson is controlling his posture from full guard.
peterson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Fury got a little sloppy there for a moment and peterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fury has managed to get both his arms back between peterson's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fury throws a combination but it was largely blocked by peterson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury lands a nice looking kick to the body. peterson takes a step back to recover.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
peterson throws a looping overhand right but Fury ducks down to avoid it.
peterson tries for a takedown but Fury sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fury feints and then cracks peterson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow peterson down.

Fury scores with a sloppy right hand. peterson should have avoided that one.
Fury swats away the attempt to clinch by peterson.
Fury fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt peterson.
Fury misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fury uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before peterson has time to react.
Fury stalks peterson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into peterson's face. peterson staggers backwards, shaken.
Fury lands a two punch combo.

Fury is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fury thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on peterson if he has to take too many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Fury!
Bryan Fury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fury forces peterson back against the cage and clinches.
peterson can't get the takedown.

Fury pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fury is on top in guard.
peterson keeping moving, preventing Fury from controlling successfully.

Fury must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bryan Fury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! peterson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



peterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fury was covering up waiting for the punch and peterson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fury tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fury wants to stand but peterson is controlling the position.

Fury takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fury lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for peterson!
peterson is in all sorts of trouble here.
peterson wants to hold on but Fury pushes him away.
peterson is looking to improve his position but Fury isn't that keen on the idea.
pete peterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fury trying to control but peterson is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
peterson wants to control but Fury is having none of it.

Fury is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but peterson is surviving well by controlling Fury's body position as best he can.
peterson wants to hold on but Fury pushes him away.
peterson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
peterson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

peterson wants to control from the top but Fury keeps moving.

The referee asks peterson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. peterson prefers to stall for the moment though.
peterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fury wants to get back to his feet but peterson drags him back down.
peterson advances nicely into full mount.
peterson breaks from Fury's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fury prevents peterson from taking his back.
peterson raining down shots from the mount!

peterson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Fury?
