Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pauli Sankari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pencil Neck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sankari's entrance music is SMC Hoodrats. A fine choice. Neck is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rolling Stones - Paint it black. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Pauli Sankari! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pencil Neck! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neck chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sankari can pounce on him.
A nice combination there by Neck.
It looks like Pauli Sankari has been cut. Neck shoots for a double leg takedown but Sankari sprawls well. He's pushed Neck's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Neck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Neck shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Neck is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sankari is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Neck's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Neck's back! Neck is trying to get back to his feet but Sankari has full control of the position and if anything, Neck has just worked his way into a worse spot. Sankari controlling well, preventing Neck from escaping the position.
Sankari has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Neck has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Neck manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sankari's guard. Nice work there by Neck.

Neck's corner is telling him to maintain position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neck stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sankari swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sankari working for submissions but it's allowed Neck to get to half guard.
Sankari is breathing heavily. Neck content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Sankari wants to improve his position but Neck is controlling well.
Neck wants to take a breather but Sankari is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Neck works his way into side control. Neck scoring with punches and elbows. Neck trying to control the position but Sankari is working away. A lull in the action here. Sankari tries to bench press Neck off him but Neck keeps the position. Neck is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sankari's shoulder. That is not cool. Neck is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sankari has escaped the position, nice work there. Sankari tries to bench press Neck off him but Neck keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sankari keeps working. Sankari is looking to regain half guard here but Neck keeps moving and retains side control. Neck is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sankari knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Sankari is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Sankari's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sankari tries to bench press Neck off him but Neck keeps the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sankari gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sankari wants to sweep but no luck. Neck pushing down on Sankari's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Sankari wants to get back to full guard but Neck has mounted him! Neck trying to control but he's not successful this time. Neck stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Sankari tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Neck is able to avoid easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sankari connects with a solid leg kick. Neck drives through and clinches with Sankari against the cage.
Neck decides to pull guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pencil Neck dominated that round. The cut man is working on Pauli Sankari's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sankari throws a leg kick but Neck sees it coming and moves out of range. Neck fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sankari avoids it really well and circles away. Neck wants to clinch. Sankari swats away the attempt to clinch by Neck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sankari misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Neck. Pauli Sankari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pencil Neck. Neck throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sankari's waist but Sankari gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Neck off to one side. Neck is breathing heavily. Neck tries to clinch up. Neck shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sankari defends it nicely. A clash of legs there as Sankari blocks the low kick. Neck throws a combination that misses and Sankari counters with a good low kick that Neck was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Neck misses with a takedown attempt and Sankari counters with a takedown into side control. Sankari is trying to get an arm triangle but Neck is defending well. Sankari thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Neck is looking to reverse the position. Neck striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Sankari working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sankari is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Neck is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neck wants to clinch and Sankari counters with a nice low kick that buckles Neck's knee momentarily. Pencil Neck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Neck swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
