Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Kuntz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kennedy comes to the cage accompanied by MegaDeth - Symphony of Destruction. Rusty Kuntz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with James Kennedy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Kennedy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rusty Kuntz! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennedy throws a combination. Kuntz tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kuntz throws the left hand but Kennedy avoids the punch easily. Kennedy lands a jab to the head.
Kennedy checks a leg kick nicely. Kuntz misses with a combination
and Kennedy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kennedy just misses with a punch to the body.
Kuntz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kennedy works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kuntz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kennedy. Kuntz is refusing to be controlled, as Kennedy sits in half guard. Kennedy trying to mount his opponent but Kuntz defends it. Kennedy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuntz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kennedy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kuntz is looking to improve his position.
Kennedy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kennedy shoots in for a double leg but Kuntz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rusty Kuntz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut lands for Kuntz. That snapped Kennedy's head back.
It looks like James Kennedy has been cut. Kuntz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kuntz throws a good cross that connects.
Kennedy fails with a takedown attempt. Kennedy gets a clinch. Kennedy lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuntz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kuntz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kennedy throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Kuntz has had enough of the clinch but Kennedy keeps him there for the moment. Nice body punch from Kennedy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kennedy leaning his opponent against the cage. Kennedy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kuntz smiles and moves away.

Kuntz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kennedy moves away. Kuntz dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kuntz jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kennedy shoots in for a takedown but Kuntz shows good takedown defense. Kennedy slips a straight right by Kuntz. Kuntz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kennedy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kuntz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Kuntz is squirming around, avoiding Kennedy's attempts to control the action. Kuntz wants to hold on but Kennedy pushes him away. Kuntz blocking the ground and pound. Kuntz is looking to improve his position but Kennedy isn't that keen on the idea. Kuntz tries to lock up and control but Kennedy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kennedy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kennedy unloading with bombs! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kuntz regains half guard. Kennedy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kuntz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kennedy is keen to just control but Kuntz is a slippery customer. Kennedy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kennedy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kuntz stuns Kennedy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kuntz throws a right hand that Kennedy ducks under and follows up with a left that Kennedy also avoids with ease. Kuntz swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kennedy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kuntz's guard now. Kennedy trying to move into half guard but instead Kuntz has managed to sweep! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kuntz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kennedy is proving hard to escape from. Kuntz stopping the sweep attempt from Kennedy. Kuntz wants to stand but Kennedy is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuntz preventing the sweep. Kuntz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kuntz wants to stand but Kennedy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kennedy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kuntz throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kuntz misses with a jab to the body
and Kennedy counters with a solid body kick. Kuntz throws a big shot that misses. Kuntz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kennedy has Kuntz up against the cage in a clinch.
Kennedy is stalling here.

Kuntz tries to land a body kick and Kennedy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kennedy punishes Kuntz's body with a nice straight punch. Kuntz is breathing heavily. Kennedy takes the fight into the clinch. Kennedy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kuntz regains guard immediately. Kennedy trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuntz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kuntz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kuntz is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kuntz wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kuntz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kennedy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kuntz napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kennedy is looking to take a break and control but Kuntz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kuntz sneaks back into half guard. Kuntz is looking for a sweep. Kennedy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kennedy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kennedy throwing shots but Kuntz is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kennedy dominated that second round. The cut man is working on James Kennedy's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kennedy throws a hook but Kuntz blocks it. Kennedy slips under a jab. Kuntz throws a sloppy body shot
so Kennedy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kennedy has gone for a leg lock! Kuntz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kennedy's guard. Kuntz postures up.
Kennedy wants to sweep here but Kuntz controlling him for the moment. Kuntz wants to stand but Kennedy is controlling his posture from full guard. Kennedy working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kuntz has passed into half guard!

That's one minute gone in the round. Kuntz stands up out of the half guard. Rusty Kuntz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kennedy throws a one two combo.
Kuntz fails to land with a series of punches.
Kuntz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kennedy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kennedy misses with a low kick. Kuntz misses with a straight right. Kennedy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kuntz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kennedy manages to avoid it. Kennedy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kennedy slips under a jab. Kennedy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kuntz. Kennedy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kuntz did well to prevent Kennedy getting side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kennedy wants to control but Kuntz is keeping him busy. Kuntz is trying to get back to full guard. Kuntz wants to control but Kennedy is keeping busy.
Kuntz is defending against the submission attempts here by Kennedy.
Kuntz is staying active underneath Kennedy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rusty Kuntz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kuntz is looking to escape. Kennedy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kennedy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kuntz pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kennedy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kennedy scores with a one two! Kuntz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Kennedy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James Kennedy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Good exchange - Kennedy coming out on top. Kennedy misses with a head kick.
Kennedy drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. James Kennedy is winning the standup battle so far. Kennedy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kuntz at a distance.
Kuntz scores with the left hand. Kennedy knows he should have avoided that one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kuntz jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
James Kennedy's cut is getting worse. Kennedy tries to clinch up. Kuntz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Kuntz throws a head kick that misses and Kennedy moves into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! James Kennedy showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kennedy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
