The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
roberto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Benderson's half guard.
Benderson tries to kick roberto off but roberto keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benderson is trying to stand up here but roberto is controlling him well.

roberto is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Benderson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
