PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monster Draon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Monster Draon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Draon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Draon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Draon counters with a single leg into guard. Da Silva didn't expect that.

Draon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Draon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Draon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Da Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Draon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Da Silva has his foot on Draon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Draon works his way back into a safe position though.

Draon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Da Silva pulls his head out easily.

Da Silva pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Da Silva postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Draon looks a forlorn figure.

Da Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Draon scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Da Silva manages to mount him!
Da Silva lands a nice shot to the head.
Draon regains half guard.
Draon is looking to escape.
Draon gets full guard.
Da Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Draon has wrist control.
Da Silva wants to pass the guard but Draon is keeping the position.
Da Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Draon looking for a guillotine here but Da Silva defends easily.

Draon wants to sweep here but Da Silva controlling him for the moment.
Da Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Da Silva wants to control but Draon is keeping him busy.
Da Silva is looking to advance position but Draon won't allow it.
Draon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Da Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Da Silva's back!

Draon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Da Silva defends well.

Da Silva stands up and waves to Draon to follow him.
Da Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Draon circles away.
Rodrigo Da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Da Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Da Silva lands a few punches from side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Draon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Da Silva's best efforts.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Da Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Da Silva feints and then cracks Draon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Draon down.

Da Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Draon's guard.

Da Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Draon looking for a triangle here. Da Silva is fighting it but it looks tight! Draon pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Da Silva is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Monster Draon!
