Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabe Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wayne Jung has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabe Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayne Jung!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva moves out of range as Jung throws a body kick.

Silva has Jung up against the cage in a clinch.
Jung just leaning against Silva, taking a breather.
Jung is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jung crunches a lovely knee into Silva's ribcage.

Jung's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jung is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jung darts in trying to clinch

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jung won't be happy with that.
Silva landing strikes.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jung, who protects the arm well.
Jung is working to avoid the ground and pound but Silva connects with a decent elbow.

Jung struggling a bit here.
Silva trying to control the action but Jung is working from the bottom.
Jung tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silva in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Jung wants to control but Silva postures up.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silva goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jung has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Silva but great work by Jung.
Silva is not content to let Jung control the position.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Jung wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

Silva wants to control but Jung is keeping him busy.
Jung is looking for a sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Silva has closed the distance and engaged Jung in a clinch.
Jung blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jung wants to stall.
Silva fails to pull guard.
Jung lands a body shot in the clinch.
Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jung gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jung keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva is trying to force a seperation but Jung has the dominant position.
Jung tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body.
Silva wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabe Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jung drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Knees to the body from Jung.
Jung looks gassed!
Jung tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Jung drops back down to his feet.
Jung prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jung lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Jung lands a knee to the head.
With the fighters up against the cage, Silva throws an elbow but misses.
Jung leaning against his opponent.
Jung prevents Silva from breaking the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gabe Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jung circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jung tries to clinch

and Silva counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Jung throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jung jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Jung gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Silva tries to clinch but Jung is having none of it.
Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jung can pounce on him.
Jung tries to clinch up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.
Jung misses with a knee strike.

Silva has Jung pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jung tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Jung's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jung is trying to keep Silva in close.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Jung is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Jung slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jung wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Silva has his foot on Jung's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jung works his way back into a safe position though.

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jung wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jung works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jung wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it.
Jung controlling the action here.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Jung is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silva is not content to let Jung control the position.

Silva looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Silva tries to roll over but Jung keeps him under control.
Jung really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jung is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jung closes the distance but Silva moves to the side

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Silva loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Silva passes Jung's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jung wants to get back to his feet.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Jung is defending well.
Jung is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jung avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabe Silva dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Jung wants to clinch.
Jung tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Jung throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva misses with a wild body shot.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Jung circles away.
Silva swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Jung counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jung.

Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Silva tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jung tries to land a knee to the head but Silva blocks with his arms.
Jung is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Jung takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jung content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Jung breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Jung circles away.
Jung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Silva is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Silva winds up and cracks Jung with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Jung is trying to control but Silva passes into side control!
Gabe Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Silva throws a series of punches but Jung moves out of range.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Silva counters by clinching up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jung misses with a punch on the inside.
Wayne Jung has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jung blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gabe Silva showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
