Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Burroughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Burroughs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Simple Man By Shinedown. Daniels is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Enter Sandman by Metallica. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Burroughs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Daniels! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels tries to clinch there but Burroughs circles away.
Daniels tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burroughs swivels and escapes. Burroughs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Daniels sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Burroughs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Daniels moves into the clinch. Burroughs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Daniels pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Burroughs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daniels has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Burroughs is trying to keep an underhook but Daniels manages to get the takedown into half guard. Burroughs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though. Daniels prevents Burroughs from improving his position. Daniels is pressing down on Burroughs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Burroughs is holding on for now. Daniels sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Burroughs is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Daniels's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Daniels's back! Daniels covering up well under a barage of strikes. Burroughs gets his hands free as Daniels looks to control. Daniels tries to break free.
Daniels staying busy and making it hard for Burroughs to control. Burroughs throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Burroughs misses with an elbow to the head. Daniels looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Can Daniels hold on?! Burroughs is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Burroughs punches the canvas rather than the man. Daniels tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Burroughs is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Daniels to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Daniels shrugs it off. Burroughs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Daniels wants to control but Burroughs is having none of it. Burroughs lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Daniels sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daniels tries to get to full guard but Burroughs has control of the leg. Burroughs thows a huge punch but Daniels dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels is trying to stand up here but Burroughs is controlling him well. Daniels has hold of Burroughs's hands but Burroughs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Burroughs working over Daniels with some ground and pound. Daniels looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Burroughs is trying to control. Daniels wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Burroughs thows a huge punch but Daniels dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Burroughs connects with a nice short shot to Daniels's temple. Burroughs thows a huge punch but Daniels dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Daniels trying to control from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Burroughs shoots in but no luck this time. Burroughs cracks Daniels with an open hand slap. Daniels dives in and grabs Burroughs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Burroughs pushes down on Daniels's head and hops out. Daniels wants to clinch. Burroughs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Daniels sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jim Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burroughs is defended easily by Daniels. Daniels is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Burroughs will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Burroughs ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Daniels with a lazy takedown attempt and Burroughs moves into the clinch. Burroughs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Daniels gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Burroughs controlling the position. Burroughs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Daniels is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Daniels wants to control from the top but Burroughs keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Burroughs looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Burroughs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daniels manages to get himself to full guard.
Burroughs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Burroughs's corner is telling him to maintain position. Daniels wants to stand up but Burroughs is controlling him. Daniels working a defensive guard here.
Burroughs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burroughs trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Burroughs won't allow Daniels to sweep him here. Burroughs distracts Daniels with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burroughs trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Burroughs swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels. Daniels shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Burroughs counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Daniels! John Burroughs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Daniels. Daniels is squirming around, avoiding Burroughs's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels tries to hold on but Burroughs postures up. Daniels tries to reverse the position but Burroughs maintains control. Burroughs lands a big shot there that rocks Daniels but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Burroughs with shots to the head and body - Daniels looks very uncomfortable down there. Burroughs trying to control but he's not successful this time. Burroughs prevents Daniels from getting the reversal. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Burroughs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Burroughs lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Daniels is desperately trying to improve his position but Burroughs has a good base and remains in mount. Daniels is breathing heavily. A big strike lands for Burroughs! That's really hurt Daniels and he's turned his back - Burroughs keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Burroughs Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Burroughs!
