Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikolai Kovalchik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragan Davydenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kovalchik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Get Big by Dorrough. Both fighters look pumped up here. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragan Davydenko!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davydenko is looking to clinch.
Kovalchik misses with a double jab.
Davydenko tries to clinch but Kovalchik moves out of range.
Kovalchik swats away the attempt to clinch by Davydenko.
Kovalchik cracks Davydenko with an open hand slap.

Kovalchik fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Davydenko on the side of the head.

Kovalchik pushes Davydenko up against the cage in a clinch.
Davydenko throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kovalchik blocks it with crossed arms.

Kovalchik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kovalchik moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Kovalchik goes for a takedown attempt but Davydenko pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Kovalchik counters with a series of strikes. Davydenko will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kovalchik closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davydenko to the mat! Davydenko manages to get full guard.
Davydenko keeping moving, preventing Kovalchik from controlling successfully.
Davydenko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kovalchik is controlling him.

Kovalchik wants to get up but he can't break Davydenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kovalchik has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davydenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Davydenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kovalchik wants to control from the top but Davydenko keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kovalchik looks to land a combination but Davydenko avoids it well.
No joy there for Kovalchik, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Davydenko tries to clinch but Kovalchik moves away
and Kovalchik counters with a two punch combo.

Davydenko has closed the distance and engaged Kovalchik in a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davydenko using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kovalchik has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Kovalchik breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dragan Davydenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kovalchik's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kovalchik duly obliges.
A nice combination there by Kovalchik.
