Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rory Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dave johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, dave johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from johnson.
johnson wants to clinch.

Jordan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for johnson.
Jordan won't allow johnson to get back to his feet.
Jordan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. johnson is keeping the position for now.

johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jordan trying to control but johnson is working from the bottom.
johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Jordan is proving a slippery customer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Jordan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jordan is breathing heavily.
Jordan is looking to stand up but johnson won't let him.

Jordan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
johnson wants to control the pace but Jordan is squirming around nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
johnson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rory Jordan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jordan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and johnson dives on top into guard.

Jordan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but johnson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Jordan is not content to let johnson control the position.

johnson wants to control but Jordan is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
johnson tries to stand but Jordan is controlling his head.

johnson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
johnson shoots in for a takedown but Jordan shows good takedown defense.

Jordan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
johnson is not content to let Jordan control the position.

johnson wants to control but Jordan is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jordan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
johnson is not content to let Jordan control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
johnson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
johnson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

johnson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jordan pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jordan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
johnson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Jordan's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rory Jordan dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Jordan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jordan wants to control from the top but johnson keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

johnson has his foot on Jordan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jordan works his way back into a safe position though.

johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jordan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

Jordan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Jordan swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and johnson is now in Jordan's guard. A big mistake from Jordan there, giving up the dominant position!
Jordan striking off his back but it's not causing johnson any problems.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jordan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rory Jordan.
Well Jordan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
