Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michael Heandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Pein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heandler's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Theme . Heandler has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Joshua Pein has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Heandler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joshua Pein! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pein misses with a body kick. Pein tries to clinch there but Heandler circles away.
Heandler throws a body punch but Pein moves out of range. Heandler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pein. Heandler pushes Pein away with a front kick. Heandler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Heandler is looking to control Pein's arms but Pein gets an underhook and turns him. Now Heandler has his back to the cage. Heandler is breathing heavily. Pein tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pein fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Michael Heandler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Pein. Pein manages to break the clinch.
Heandler keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heandler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pein. Pein tries to clinch up but Heandler circles away and keeps his distance. Good exchange - Pein coming out on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pein has closed the distance and engaged Heandler in a clinch.
Pein tries to score a body lock takedown but Heandler shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Stalling in the clinch from Pein.
Heandler prevents Pein from breaking the clinch. Pein scores with a shoulder strike. Pein can't get the takedown.
Pein tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heandler just stands there and leans against the cage. Heandler keeps control of Pein as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Pein looking for a takedown. Pein successfully pulls guard.

Pein is pulling down on Heandler's head to control his posture. Pein looking to hit a scissor sweep but Heandler is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Heandler wants to control from the top but Pein keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pein is controlling Heandler's posture. Pein looking for a sweep. Not yet Pein, not yet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pein shoots for a takedown but Heandler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pein is looking to clinch but Heandler is avoiding it.
No luck for Pein with that takedown attempt. Pein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Heandler moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pein lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Heandler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Pein wants to clinch up but Heandler keeps it at a distance. Heandler throws a chopping leg kick but Pein manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Heandler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Heandler leaves Pein with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Heandler looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Heandler tries to clinch up. Pein dips to his left and cracks Heandler with an uppercut! Pein wants to clinch up but Heandler keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Michael Heandler will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pein shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Heandler as he avoids it easily. Heandler leaves Pein with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pein tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Heandler swivels and escapes. Heandler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pein's half guard. Pein has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Heandler is working away from the top position though. Pein tries to kick Heandler off but Heandler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pein tries to roll over but Heandler keeps him under control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pein thows a leg kick but Heandler checks it and Heandler counters with a nice leg kick. Pein looks for the body kick but Heandler saw that one coming. Pein stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Pein fails with the takedown. Pein tries a head kick but it misses.
Pein shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Heandler but Heandler pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pein tries to close the distance and clinch but Heandler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Heandler blocks a head kick by Pein.
Pein lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Pein lands with a nice body punch. Pein keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pein tries to clinch but Heandler moves out of range. Pein misses with a takedown attempt - Heandler sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pein shoots for a double leg takedown but Heandler sprawls well. He's pushed Pein's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Heandler turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Heandler misses with a low kick.

Pein has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Heandler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Heandler tries to work over Pein's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Pein wants a takedown but no success here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pein with a lazy takedown attempt and Heandler makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Pein goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Heandler chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A head kick by Pein misses and Heandler counters with a thumping low kick. Pein misses with a takedown attempt and Heandler makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Pein really felt that one! Pein fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pein shoots in for a double leg but Heandler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pein throws a combination that misses and Heandler counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Heandler is looking to take a break and control but Pein is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heandler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Heandler is trying to control. Pein wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Pein is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Heandler trying to control the action but Pein is working from the bottom. Michael Heandler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pein works Heandler's body with a nice hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Heandler showed his dominance in that final round. Well Heandler has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
