PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thia Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giuseppe Broadus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Thia Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Giuseppe Broadus!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Broadus looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Broadus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Li comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Li tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Broadus was well out of range. Poor timing from Li.
Broadus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Li swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Broadus counters by moving into the clinch.
Li is looking to break free of the clinch but Broadus has double underhooks.
Broadus is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Li tries to break the clinch but Broadus is controlling the position.
Broadus is trying to stall.
Li wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Broadus has him pressed against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Broadus.

Li breaks from the clinch.
Broadus slips a jab from Li.
Li throws a right and a left that both miss.
Li throws a shot from downtown. Broadus moves away and avoids it.
Broadus throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Li really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Li tries to clinch there but Broadus circles away.
Broadus misses with a series of wild punches.
Li swinging wildly here.
Broadus moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Broadus dodges the punch combination from Li.
Li lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Giuseppe Broadus has been cut.
Li tries to clinch but Broadus moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Li is rocked!

Broadus moves into the clinch.
Oh Li is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Broadus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Broadus clinches up against the cage.
Broadus's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Li seems to have got his legs back now.
Broadus prevents Li from breaking the clinch.

Li breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Li misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Li tries to clinch but Broadus moves away
and Broadus counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Li! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
