Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack McGann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, fight for live! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! for live misses with a takedown attempt - McGann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. for live closes the distance and clinches. McGann is trying to drag for live to the mat but for live just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. McGann has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed for live clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! for live breaks McGann's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
McGann working for a triangle but for live defends it easily.
for live passes McGann's right leg, so he's now in half guard. McGann controlling the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. for live looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. McGann trying to hold on to for live's head to control him but for live postures up.
for live wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGann keeps working. McGann is defending against the submission attempts here by for live.
McGann makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. McGann scores with a takedown into for live's guard. for live looking to sweep here. No luck so far. for live bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McGann's guard. for live being controlled here momentarily. for live looking to sit in guard and control but McGann gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McGannis looking to pass into half guard but for live pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now for live is in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. for live trying to control but McGann is working from the bottom. McGann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. for live postures up.
McGann can't keep his opponent in guard - for live advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. for live is keen to just control but McGann is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McGann looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. McGann shoots in and bounces for live off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. McGann thows a big elbow that misses. McGann with a nice head shot there. McGann lands a couple of elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack McGann dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
for live shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McGann's guard. for live stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGann swivels though and keeps the full guard. McGann looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McGann is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. for live not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. for live wants to get up but he can't break McGann's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. for live doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. for live manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McGann wants to stand and escape but for live is having none of it. for live won't allow McGann to sweep him here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. for live doesn't succeed with the takedown and McGann counters with a nice double leg into guard. McGann is sitting in close to for live's body. for live has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! McGann is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, McGann is tapping! That was a very nice submission by for live.
