Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spike Spiegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiegel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cowboy bebop theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Spike Spiegel! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spiegel. Griffin misses the shot to the body. Spiegel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffin napping and manages to drive through into side control! Spiegel tries for a kimura but Griffin is defending well. Spiegel working away. Griffin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Griffin tries to get out of the position. Spiegel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Spiegel trying to control the position but Griffin is working away. Spiegel misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin wants to control but Spiegel postures up. Spiegel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Griffin down.
You can see the frustration on Griffin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Spiegel is trying to get an arm triangle but Griffin is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin tries to buck Spiegel off but Spiegel is having none of it. Griffin is not content to let Spiegel control the position. Spiegel throws an elbow but Griffin slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Griffin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Spiegel wants to stand but Griffin is controlling his arm. Spiegel looks gassed! Spiegel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Spiegel walks into a stiff left hand from Griffin. Jab from Griffin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch combination from Griffin misses. Griffin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Spiegel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Spiegel has a takedown stuffed. A slow jab from Griffin misses its intended target. Griffin pushes Spiegel up against the cage in a clinch. Griffin gets a trip takedown into half guard. Spiegel throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Still in half guard, Griffin seems content to control. Spiegel trying to control but Griffin postures up.
Griffin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A head kick misses from Griffin. Griffin keeps the fight on the outside. Spiegel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Griffin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spiegel somewhat. Spiegel fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griffin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Spiegel, pushing him back against the cage. Griffin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Spiegel is breathing heavily. Spiegel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A looping hook to the body misses from Griffin. Spiegel does a little dance to reset his feet. Spiegel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Griffin counters with a nice body shot. Griffin looks to score with a jab to the body but Spiegel is just out of range. Spiegel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Griffin sprawls well. Griffin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spiegel gets slowly back to his feet. Spiegel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Spiegel wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance. Griffin throws a body punch but Spiegel moves out of range. Peter Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spiegel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Griffin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Spiegel shoots for a double leg takedown but Griffin sprawls well. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Griffin uses from the top position. Griffin stopping the sweep attempt from Spiegel. Spiegel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Griffin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spiegel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Griffin defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Griffin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Griffin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Spiegel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Spiegel fails with the takedown. Spiegel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Spiegel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Griffin. Spiegel tries to clinch up and Griffin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Spiegel's guard now. Spike Spiegel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Griffin with a nice head shot there. Spiegel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Griffin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Griffin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Griffin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
