Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Roove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roove shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cote napping and manages to drive through into side control! Roove tries for a kimura but Cote is defending well. Roove tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Roove is trying to ground and pound but Cote uses the momentary lack of control by Roove to regain half guard. Roove thows a huge punch but Cote dodges it nicely.
Roove wants to pass to mount but Cote is defending the position. Cote wants to control but Roove is keeping busy.
Roove looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cote with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Roove. Roove wants to work for an arm triangle but Cote is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Roove is looking to advance position but Cote won't allow it. Cote works his way to full guard. Good work. Roove passes Cote's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Roove thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cote's head. Roove is breathing heavily. Roove is looking to take a break and control but Cote is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cote works his way to full guard. Good work. Roove trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Roove wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving. Cote escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roove gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Roove postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cote is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Roove, into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cote jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roove keeping moving, preventing Cote from controlling successfully. Roove wants to sweep but no luck. Roove throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Cote missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Roove looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cote moves into the clinch. Cote's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cote is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Roove's half guard. Cote throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Roove throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Cote seems to be looking for submissions.
Roove tries to get to full guard but Cote has control of the leg. Roove is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cote pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bo Cote dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cote connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Roove's hands. Roove misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cote defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roove. The fight stays on the outside here - Cote looks like he's thinking about clinching though. John Roove is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cote tries to clinch up but Roove circles away and keeps his distance. Cote connects with a body shot. Cote wants to clinch up but Roove keeps it at a distance. Cote drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roove is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Roove tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Cote working away from the top, dropping strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cote wants to control the pace but Roove is squirming around nicely. Cote jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Roove manages to avoid the submission attempt. Cote tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cote has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Roove is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Roove is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Roove trying to control here.

Cote is looking to take a break and control but Roove is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Roove actively working from the bottom here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cote shoots in but no luck this time. Roove gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cote counters into the clinch. Nicely done. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Roove. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cote is trying to break free. Cote throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Cote tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Roove smiles and moves away.
Roove lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cote tries to close the distance and clinch but Roove swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. John Roove seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cote is looking to clinch but Roove is avoiding it.
Cote doesn't manage to clinch there - Roove circles away.
Roove keeps the fight on the outside. Cote scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cote wants to control but Roove is keeping him busy. Cote stands up. Roove throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cote's waist but Cote gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roove off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote fails in his attempt to clinch. Cote is looking to clinch. Cote drives through and clinches with Roove against the cage.
Cote is trying to drag Roove to the mat but Roove just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Roove wants a takedown.

Cote is looking to break free of the clinch but Roove has double underhooks. Roove prevents the takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bo Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Roove gets the takedown into side control. Roove lands an elbow. Roove creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cote sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Roove is working Cote over with some ground and pound from side control. Roove throwing strikes but Cote manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Roove gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Bo Cote has got the better of the ground game so far. Cote is looking to take a break and control but Roove is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cote throwing shots but Roove is blocking nicely. Cote is keen to just control but Roove is a slippery customer. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cote is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roove doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cote.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Roove doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cote moves into the clinch. Cote tries to stall but Roove uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Roove fails to pull guard.
Cote using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Roove has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Roove jumps guard but Cote stands there with Roove around his waist. Roove gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Roove. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cote with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Roove tries to pull guard but Cote holds him up against the cage and eventually Roove drops back down to his feet.

Cote pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Roove tries to score a body lock takedown but Cote shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Cote manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cote shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roove's guard. Cote being controlled here momentarily. Roove has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cote can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cote stopping the sweep attempt from Roove. Roove working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cote doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cote manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. John Roove has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roove looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cote passes into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Bo Cote comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cote has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
