PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Jaminson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Romaszko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romaszko is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Voices. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Jaminson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michal Romaszko!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romaszko shoots in for a double leg but Jaminson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Romaszko tries to clinch but Jaminson is having none of it.

Jaminson gets the takedown into side control.

Jaminson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Romaszko to his feet.
Jaminson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jaminson clinches.

Jaminson wants the takedown. Romaszko is fighting it off but Jaminson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Romaszko's guard against the ropes.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Jaminson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jaminson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Romaszko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Romaszko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jaminson!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Romaszko is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jaminson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jaminson!

Jaminson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Romaszko's head.

Jaminson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romaszko keeps working.
Jaminson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Jaminson stands up and beckons Romaszko to his feet.

Jaminson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jaminson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romaszko keeps working.

Jaminson forces Romaszko back against the ropes and clinches.
Romaszko drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jaminson pulls his leg out and moves away.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dirk Jaminson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Jaminson stands and steps away. Romaszko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jaminson is trying to control the action in half guard but Romaszko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jaminson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Romaszko's head.
Romaszko has hold of Jaminson's hands but Jaminson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jaminson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jaminson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Romaszko!
The referee warns Romaszko that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jaminson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Romaszko has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dirk Jaminson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jaminson has hold of Romaszko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Romaszko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jaminson throws a sloppy head kick and Romaszko moves out of range easily.

Jaminson feints and as Romaszko raises his hands in defense, Jaminson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Romaszko is working an open guard so Jaminson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jaminson clinches up with Romaszko and pushes him back against the ropes.

Jaminson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Romaszko for as long as he can get away with.

Dirk Jaminson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jaminson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
