Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gates's entrance music is Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2. A fine choice. Howell has chosen Bodies as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Howell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Gates doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Howell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gates!
Gates is trying to escape the mount.
Howell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gates looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Rob Gates has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Howell lands a heavy elbow.
Howell tries to control but Gates wriggling away.
Gates might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gates tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gates holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Howell tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Howell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Gates slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Howell is trying to control the action in half guard but Gates is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gates manages to get to full guard.
Gates looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gates is looking for a triangle but Howell pushes his legs off easily.
Howell wants to stand but Gates is controlling his posture from full guard.
Howell stands up and waves to Gates to follow him.
