Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kukulcan Ah Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ah Puch comes to the ring accompanied by Sick Puppies-Youre going down. Kukulcan Ah Puch could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takanori Gomi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kukulcan Ah Puch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Gomi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi stuns Ah Puch with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. No joy there for Gomi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Gomi counters with a right hand to the body. Gomi shoots in and drives through. Ah Puch sprawls well. Nice body punch from Ah Puch. Ah Puch drops Gomi with a right and a left! Ah Puch comes rushing in but Gomi regains his composure and manages to keep Ah Puch in guard.
Gomi is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ah Puch is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gomi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gomi has escaped and now he's on top! Gomi wants to control from the top but Ah Puch keeps moving. Ah Puch is looking to sweep but instead, Gomi has passed into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ah Puch has hold of Gomi's hands but Gomi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gomi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ah Puch tries to get to full guard but Gomi has control of the leg. Gomi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ah Puch can't escape the position.

Ah Puch manages to regain half guard. Good work. Gomi wants to take a breather but Ah Puch is having none of it. Ah Puch actively working from the bottom here. Ah Puch is not content to let Gomi control the position. Gomi is looking to advance position but Ah Puch won't allow it. Gomi prevents Ah Puch from improving his position. The fighters are battling for position here. Ah Puch manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ah Puch tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gomi has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Gomi dominating with strikes here. Ah Puch is working to get back to half guard.
Ah Puch is squirming around, avoiding Gomi's attempts to control the action. Ah Puch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gomi landing strikes from the mount and Ah Puch is in trouble! That was a close round but I would say that Kukulcan Ah Puch will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That's going to take a lot out of him.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ah Puch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Gomi controlling the action here. Ah Puch is pressing down on Gomi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gomi's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ah Puch wants to sweep here but Gomi controlling him for the moment. Gomi tries to free his leg and advance position but Ah Puch is retaining full guard. Gomi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gomi sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ah Puch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gomi's guard. Ah Puch slips nicely into half guard. Ah Puch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gomi is defending against the submission attempts here by Ah Puch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gomi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Gomi misses with a takedown attempt - Ah Puch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ah Puch moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Gomi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ah Puch circles away. Gomi gets caught flat footed, as Ah Puch shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gomi keeping moving, preventing Ah Puch from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kukulcan Ah Puch. I think Ah Puch has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
