Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steven Lineker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Lineker had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddy Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lineker slips a jab and a cross from Chapman.
Chapman throws a combination. Lineker tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Chapman swings for the body but Lineker moves out of range.
Chapman throws a nice looking combination but Lineker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lineker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chapman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Chapman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lineker wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Chapman is now in half guard.

Chapman wants to work for an arm triangle but Lineker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lineker won't allow Chapman to pass to mount.

Chapman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lineker defends it well.

Chapman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chapman tries to stand but Lineker is controlling from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lineker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chapman's guard.

Lineker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lineker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chapman for as long as he can get away with.

Lineker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lineker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Chapman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lineker defends well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lineker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lineker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chapman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lineker has managed to get both his arms back between Chapman's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Lineker.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lineker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
