Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Pungspark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lewis Fairhurst! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pungspark throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fairhurst. Pungspark shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fairhurst defends it nicely. Fairhurst feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Pungspark wants to sweep but no luck. Fairhurst loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pungspark keeping full guard, as Fairhurst tries to pass. Pungspark is pulling down on Fairhurst's head to control his posture. Fairhurst trying to control the position from guard on top but Pungspark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fairhurst looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fairhurst has gone for a leg lock! Pungspark slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fairhurst's guard. Pungspark looking to pass the guard. Pungspark thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pungspark pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fairhurst is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pungspark trying to control but Fairhurst is working from the bottom. Pungspark drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fairhurst looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fairhurst looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fairhurst! Pungspark tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pungspark struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pungspark is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fairhurst off and has taken his back! Pungspark tightening his grip on Fairhurst, looking for the choke. Pungspark has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fairhurst has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Will Pungspark go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pungspark working for a choke but Fairhurst is defending well. Pungspark wants to control but Fairhurst manages to buck him off and is now in Pungspark's guard! Paul Pungspark dominated that round. That's time! Pungspark's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Pungspark throws a nice looking combination but Fairhurst bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fairhurst shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pungspark as he jumps to the side. Pungspark defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fairhurst. Fairhurst changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pungspark looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pungspark tries to improve position but can't. Pungspark regains half guard. Pungspark is looking for a sweep. Fairhurst is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fairhurst is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pungspark wants to control the action here but instead Fairhurst manages to pass to full mount! Pungspark is looking to improve his position but Fairhurst isn't that keen on the idea. Fairhurst looking for a guillotine from mount but Pungspark is having none of it. Pungspark bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Pungspark drops back looking for a leg! Fairhurst is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fairhurst manages to kick Pungspark off! Pungspark jumps back into Fairhurst's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fairhurst keeping full guard, as Pungspark tries to pass. Pungspark trying to control the position from guard on top but Fairhurst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pungspark advances position into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pungspark trying to control the action but Fairhurst is working from the bottom. Pungspark tries for a kimura but Fairhurst is defending well. Pungspark is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fairhurst knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pungspark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pungspark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fairhurst keeps working. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pungspark wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fairhurst, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pungspark leaves Fairhurst with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pungspark has his takedown stuffed and Fairhurst counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pungspark's guard now. Fairhurst must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pungspark looking to control.
Paul Pungspark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pungspark wants to sweep but no luck. Fairhurst takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pungspark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fairhurst thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pungspark controls Fairhurst momentarily but Fairhurst frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pungspark tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pungspark looking to control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Fairhurst fails with a takedown attempt. Pungspark is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fairhurst sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pungspark moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fairhurst looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Paul Pungspark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis Fairhurst. Pungspark is looking to clinch. Pungspark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pungspark wants to clinch and Fairhurst counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pungspark moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pungspark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fairhurst is one step ahead there. Pungspark controls Fairhurst momentarily but Fairhurst frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A bone on bone clash there as Fairhurst blocks the leg kick.
Fairhurst takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Pungspark stuffs the takedown. Pungspark scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Pungspark tries to close the distance and clinch but Fairhurst swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pungspark throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fairhurst. Pungspark doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fairhurst counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pungspark's guard now.
And that's the end of the fight! Lewis Fairhurst comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pungspark has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
