PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robb Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stark is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Down With The Sickness. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Frazier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robb Stark! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frazier misses with a hook. Stark ducked under it nicely. Stark looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Stark looks to score with a jab to the body but Frazier is just out of range. Frazier throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stark stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Frazier misses with a wild body shot. Stark shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frazier is trying to defend but Stark finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Stark wants to work for an arm triangle but Frazier is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stark looks gassed! Stark stops Frazier from getting back to his feet.
Frazier gets full guard. Frazier bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stark's guard. Frazier pushes down on Stark's leg and manages to get into half guard. Frazier slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frazier scoring with strikes to the body and head. Stark wants to get back to full guard. Frazier wants to take a breather but Stark is having none of it. Frazier performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Frazier wants to control but Stark is keeping him busy. Stark wants to improve his position but Frazier is controlling well.
Stark wants to get back to full guard but Frazier has mounted him! Frazier looking to control but Stark is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Stark is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Frazier punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stark really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Frazier tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Frazier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Frazier just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Frazier lands with an overhand left. Frazier moves into the clinch. Stark tries to stall but Frazier uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Frazier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Frazier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stark moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Frazier's corner calls for a 1-2. Frazier obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Frazier closes the distance and pushes Stark back into the cage. Frazier is pushing Stark up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Frazier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frazier scores with a jab to the body. Stark takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A nice inside leg kick there by Frazier. That's going to slow Stark down. Stark avoids a punch combination nicely.
Frazier plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Robb Stark has been cut. Frazier drops Stark with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Stark looks back up at him and smiles so Frazier waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Stark is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frazier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Frazier scores a takedown into full mount! Frazier tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Frazier fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Frazier landing punches. Frazier content just to control the position here. Frazier cracks Stark with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Frazier. Stark is in all sorts of trouble here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Stark slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Frazier is controlling the pace.
Stark is refusing to be controlled, as Frazier sits in half guard. Frazier looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Stark is staying active underneath Frazier, who seems content to just control the action from this position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Frazier landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Frazier trying to control from half guard but Stark is working away. Frazier looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stark with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Frazier dominated that round. The cut man is working on Robb Stark's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position. A short uppercut from Frazier. Frazier breaks from the clinch.
Frazier cracks a nice hook into Stark's ribs. Jimmy Frazier is winning the standup battle so far. Stark fails with the takedown and Frazier counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Stark tries to clinch but Frazier moves away letting Frazier counter with a right hand. Frazier darts in and clinches Stark up against the cage. Frazier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stark throws a left and a right that both miss
and Frazier counters with an inside leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frazier gets a clinch. Frazier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stark has his takedown stuffed and Frazier counters with a left to the body. Stark seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Frazier shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Stark is backing up but Frazier catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Stark covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Frazier Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Frazier!
