Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Umber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Al Blaze has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Umber!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umber fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Blaze throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Umber uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Blaze.
Blaze misses with an uppercut.
Blaze listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like John Umber has been cut.

Blaze shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blaze showed some decent athleticism there.
Umber trying to hold on to Blaze's head to control him but Blaze postures up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Blaze connects with a nice short shot to Umber's temple.

Blaze drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blaze jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blaze thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Blaze is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Blaze stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blaze wants it to stay on the feet.
Al Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaze throws an overhand right that lands on Umber's shoulder, as Umber tries to avoid the shot.
Umber avoids the body shot from Blaze.
Blaze tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Umber paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Umber seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blaze does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

No joy there for Umber, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blaze leaves Umber with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Al Blaze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Umber.
Blaze swings for the body but Umber moves out of range.

Blaze might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Umber scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Blaze to see if he's OK.

Blaze is looking to reverse the position.

Blaze escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Umber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blaze wants to improve his position but Umber is controlling well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Blaze misses with a series of wild punches.

Umber changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blaze looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Blaze tries to buck Umber off but Umber is having none of it.
Umber is chipping away with strikes.
Umber tries to stand but Blaze is controlling his head.
Blaze manages to work his way to half guard, despite Umber's best efforts.
Umber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blaze. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blaze is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Umber pulls his head out easily.
Blaze is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blaze has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Umber escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Umber!

Well Blaze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
