10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, RJ McLovin! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLovin checks a leg kick. McLovin scores with a three punch combo!
Flanery is looking to clinch but McLovin is avoiding it.
Nice straight punches there by McLovin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McLovin. Flanery shoots in for a double leg but McLovin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. McLovin swinging wildly here.
A lazy left from McLovin finds it's target. Flanery keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Flanery misses with a double jab
and McLovin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Flanery takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This has been an exciting period of action! McLovin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McLovin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McLovin staying out of range there. Flanery misses with a shot to the body and McLovin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. McLovin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flanery manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Flanery is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLovin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. McLovin pushes down on Flanery's leg and manages to get into half guard. Flanery wants to get back to his feet.
McLovin is working for a kimura but Flanery is defending it quite comfortably.
McLovin is looking to advance position but Flanery won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McLovin controlling the pace. Flanery is trying to stand back up but McLovin is controlling him
Flanery looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McLovin sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Let's hope that McLovin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Despite being in the dominant position, RJ McLovin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McLovin throws a right hand that Flanery ducks under and follows up with a left that Flanery also avoids with ease. McLovin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Flanery throws a leg kick but McLovin sees it coming and checks it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McLovin slips a jab and a cross from Flanery.
A looping hook to the body misses from Flanery. McLovin does a little dance to reset his feet. Flanery misses with a double jab
and McLovin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Flanery misses with a shot to the body and McLovin counters with a left and a right that stings Flanery. A nice leg kick lands there from McLovin. Flanery is breathing heavily. Flanery throws a right hand that McLovin ducks under and follows up with a left that McLovin also avoids with ease. McLovin throws a series of strikes that have Flanery backpedaling.
Flanery throws a lazy head kick and McLovin counters with a straight right hand. McLovin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A jab-cross combination lands for McLovin and sends Flanery crashing to the mat! McLovin follows him down to the mat - Flanery regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Flanery is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McLovin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Flanery is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
