The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cantstandya lands a glancing blow to the side of Staal's head.
Cantstandya scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Cantstandya working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cantstandya has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Staal takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Staal is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Cantstandya cracks Staal with a big elbow.

Cantstandya works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Staal is rocked!
Cantstandya has hold of Staal's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Staal seems comfortable defending it but Cantstandya has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Staal is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Staal is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cantstandya couldn't care less - he's delighted!
