Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BJ Penn tries to land a leg kick but Palaver saw it coming and moves away.

Palaver takes one on the chin but seems OK.
BJ Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Palaver paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Palaver got a little sloppy there for a moment and BJ Penn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Palaver has managed to get both his arms back between BJ Penn's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Palaver is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and BJ Penn defends it well.
Palaver wants to work for an arm triangle but BJ Penn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Palaver throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around BJ Penn's waist but BJ Penn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palaver off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Palaver drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but BJ Penn manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Palaver has BJ Penn in his guard.
