The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Smasher darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
austin fails in his attempt to clinch.
austin throws a looping overhand right but Smasher ducks down to avoid it.
Smasher closes the distance and pushes austin back into the cage.
austin tries to circle away but Smasher has him pinned against the cage.
Smasher pulls guard.
austin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Smasher wants to sweep but no luck.

Smasher lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for austin!
austin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Smasher has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of austin's face.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
austin is in a horrible position here. Smasher smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if austin can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smasher pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

austin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
