Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Doran Connell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rolls Royce!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royce avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Connell wants to clinch up but Royce keeps it at a distance.
Connell throws a quick inside leg kick.
Connell throws a head kick that misses.
Royce keeps the fight on the outside.
Connell tries to clinch but Royce moves out of range.
Connell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Royce keeps the fight on the outside.
Connell wants to clinch.
Connell throws a sloppy head kick and Royce moves out of range easily.
Horrible takedown by Connell or perhaps it was just good defense by Royce which made him look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Royce will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Connell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Royce swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Royce counters with a single leg into guard. Connell didn't expect that.

Royce wants to control from the top but Connell keeps moving.
Royce wants to pass the guard but Connell is keeping the position.
Royce trying to control but Connell is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Royce works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Connell keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Connell has one foot on Royce's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Connell closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Royce did well to prevent Connell getting side control.
Connell working over Royce with some ground and pound. Royce looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Royce moves into full guard.

Royce is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Connell is aware though and is defending well.
Connell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Royce works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Royce preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Connell has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Royce to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Connell is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Royce pulls down on the head and he's put Connell to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rolls Royce!
