PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roger de la Fuente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roger de la Fuente!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stan Winner!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner throws a series of strikes that have de la Fuente backpedaling.
The fight stays on the outside here - de la Fuente looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Winner leaves de la Fuente with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Winner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

de la Fuente shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and de la Fuente counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
de la Fuente on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if de la Fuente tries to get out of the position.

Winner wants to take a breather but de la Fuente is having none of it.

Well Winner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
