Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Edwards! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor throws a combination. Edwards tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Edwards showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Taylor.
Sean Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Taylor.
Taylor tries to bum rush Edwards with a series of wild strikes but Edwards uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edwards tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Taylor gets caught flat footed, as Edwards shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Taylor wants to stand up but Edwards is controlling him. Taylor keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully. Edwards stands up from Taylor's guard - Edwards perhaps looking for a knockout. Edwards tries to clinch there but Taylor circles away.

Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taylor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Edwards pivots, looking for a leg kick but Taylor is out of range and Edwards settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Taylor does no damage. Taylor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Taylor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Horrible takedown by Edwards or perhaps it was just good defense by Taylor which made him look bad. Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edwards moves out of range and avoids them all easily. No joy there for Taylor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Taylor throws a right and a left that both miss. No luck for Edwards with that takedown attempt. Sean Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Edwards. Taylor throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range. Taylor stuffs the takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet. Taylor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Edwards circles away quickly and effectively. Edwards doesn't manage to clinch there - Taylor circles away.
Edwards bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Edwards looks gassed! Taylor is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Taylor trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards staying calm. Edwards decides to stand back up. Edwards throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch but Taylor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edwards moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Taylor throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range. Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taylor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Taylor keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Edwards tries to clinch up but Taylor circles away and keeps his distance. Taylor gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edwards to score an easy takedown into full guard. Edwards is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Edwards wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving. Edwards is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Edwards pushes down on Taylor's leg and manages to get into half guard. Edwards is looking to take a break and control but Taylor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edwards throws a low kick but it's checked well by Taylor. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Edwards. A combination from Taylor does no damage. Taylor throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taylor defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edwards. Taylor takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Edwards counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Edwards won't allow Taylor to get back to his feet. Edwards looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Taylor wants to stand and escape but Edwards is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards stands up over Taylor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Taylor can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Edwards controls the pace. Taylor keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully. Edwards stops Taylor from standing up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Edwards shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Taylor manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Edwards trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards cracks Taylor with a solid left hand. Taylor is looking to stand up but Edwards isn't so interested in that idea. Edwards passes into half guard. Edwards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working. Edwards looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Taylor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Edwards is trying to control. Taylor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Taylor! Edwards putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Edwards postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Taylor looks a forlorn figure.

Edwards takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Edwards wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely.

Edwards has hold of Taylor's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Taylor manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Taylor has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

No, Taylor has escaped the position, nice work there. Taylor takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Edwards asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Taylor tries to buck Edwards off but Edwards takes his back! Edwards has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Edwards controls the action. Taylor is trying to stand back up. Sean Taylor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Edwards trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Jack Edwards is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Edwards lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Taylor.
