Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piotr Rasputin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wesley Correira! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Correira is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Correira is looking to clinch but Rasputin is avoiding it.
Correira tries to clinch but Rasputin is having none of it. Correira tries to close the distance and clinch but Rasputin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice sprawl there from Correira as Rasputin shoots in. Rasputin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Correira wants to clinch. Correira fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Correira fails with the takedown so Rasputin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Rasputin has control of Correira's left arm, preventing Correira from doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rasputin is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rasputin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rasputin trying to control but Correira is working from the bottom. Rasputin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rasputin prevents Correira from getting back to his feet. Rasputin trying to move into half guard but instead Correira has managed to sweep! Rasputin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rasputin trying to control the position here. Rasputin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasputin is pulling down on Correira's head. It's preventing any offense from Correira, at least for the moment. Correira would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Rasputin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rasputin is working hard here to advance position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Correira tries to clinch but fails miserably so Rasputin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Rasputin throwing strikes but missing. Correira is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rasputin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rasputin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Correira swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Correira tries to clinch but fails miserably and Rasputin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Correira! Correira wants to get back to his feet.
Rasputin trying to control but Correira is having none of it. Piotr Rasputin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rasputin is really struggling to control Correira but he's trying to hold on to the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Piotr Rasputin just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Correira shoots in and drives through. Rasputin sprawls well. Wesley Correira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rasputin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Correira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Correira.

Rasputin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Correira. Correira tries to clinch but Rasputin is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasputin with a lazy takedown attempt and Correira counters with a single leg into guard. Rasputin didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Piotr Rasputin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rasputin looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Correira must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rasputin wants to sweep but no luck. Rasputin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Rasputin wants to sweep here but Correira controlling him for the moment. Rasputin working a defensive guard but Correira manages to pass into side control anyway.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Correira wants to clinch and Rasputin counters with a shoot takedown. Correira fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Piotr Rasputin will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Correira has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rasputin is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasputin has his hands on Correira's head, controlling the position. Rasputin wants to hit a switch here but Correira passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rasputin there! Piotr Rasputin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rasputin tries to lock up and control but Correira gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rasputin working to try and regain half guard.

Correira closes the distance looking to clinch and Rasputin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Correira is refusing to be controlled, as Rasputin sits in half guard. Rasputin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Correira is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Piotr Rasputin. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rasputin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
