Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Dungy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Sutherland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sutherland's choice of entrance music: Animosity. Melvin Dungy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Melvin Dungy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gerard Sutherland! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dungy blocks a low kick nicely. Sutherland throws a leg kick but Dungy sees it coming and checks it nicely. Dungy shoots for a takedown but Sutherland saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sutherland waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Dungy. Sutherland misses with an uppercut. Dungy drives through with a takedown into guard. Sutherland wants to sweep here but Dungy controlling him for the moment. Dungy forces his way into half guard. Dungy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sutherland does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sutherland makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sutherland. Dungy won't allow Sutherland to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dungy advances position into side control! Dungy tries for a kimura but Sutherland is defending well. Dungy wants to control but Sutherland is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sutherland is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Sutherland's face as Dungy controls the position. Sutherland tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dungy ducks under a wild hook from Sutherland. Sutherland just misses with a punch to the body.

Dungy tries to clinch up. Sutherland throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dungy misses with a few strikes there.
Dungy throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dungy attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from Sutherland. No joy for Dungy on that attempt. Dungy misses with a kick to the body.
Dungy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melvin Dungy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dungy is breathing heavily. Sutherland fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dungy sprawls well initially but Sutherland persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sutherland lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sutherland thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dungy's head. Sutherland wants to pass the guard but Dungy is defending well. Dungy wants to control but Sutherland is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sutherland winds up and cracks Dungy with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Sutherland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dungy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sutherland missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sutherland is nestled in close to Dungy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dungy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dungy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sutherland is working away from the top position though. Sutherland perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Sutherland throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sutherland missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Sutherland is tying to control. Dungy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dungy is trying to maintain the position but Sutherland is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dungy moves into full guard.
Sutherland tries to free his leg and advance position but Dungy is retaining full guard. Sutherland drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sutherland jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dungy keeping moving, preventing Sutherland from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dungy digs a good hook to Sutherland's body.
Dungy throws a chopping leg kick but Sutherland manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Dungy misses with a head kick.
Dungy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sutherland cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sutherland throws a looping overhand right but Dungy ducks down to avoid it. Dungy throws a nice looking combination but Sutherland bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gerard Sutherland will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sutherland is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dungy. Dungy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sutherland counters with a nice leg kick. Melvin Dungy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sutherland lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Dungy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dungy tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sutherland counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dungy tries to clinch and Sutherland counters with a three punch combo that has Dungy backing up. Dungy nods at Sutherland to acknowledge the strikes. Dungy displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Sutherland checks a leg kick. Dungy swings for the body but Sutherland moves out of range.
Dungy wants to clinch but Sutherland slips to the side and Sutherland counters by moving into the clinch. Dungy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sutherland pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dungy is looking to break free of the clinch but Sutherland has double underhooks.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melvin Dungy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sutherland keeps control of Dungy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sutherland can't find room to land a body shot as Dungy controls the action.
Sutherland is pressed up against the cage. Dungy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sutherland down to the mat. Sutherland avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sutherland throws a hook but Dungy avoids it easily. Good work by Dungy as he checks the leg kick. Sutherland throws a leg kick but Dungy sees it coming and checks it nicely. Sutherland gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dungy tries to stall but Sutherland uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dungy wants to get back to striking at distance but Sutherland won't allow it.
Sutherland tries to work over Dungy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Sutherland misses with a body punch.
Sutherland lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dungy. Sutherland gets through Dungy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Sutherland makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Dungy is trying to break free. Sutherland lands a hook that snaps the head of Dungy backwards. Dungy fails to pull guard.
Dungy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Dungy pulls guard effortlessly. Sutherland postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sutherland must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sutherland scoring with punches to the head and body. Dungy wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dungy keeping moving, preventing Sutherland from controlling successfully. Sutherland lands a couple of digs. Dungy is pulling down on Sutherland's head. It's preventing any offense from Sutherland, at least for the moment. Dungy keeping full guard, as Sutherland tries to pass. Dungy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sutherland pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dungy is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sutherland passes into half guard. Sutherland lands with a punch from half guard. Sutherland is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Dungy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dungy manages to get to full guard.

Dungy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sutherland is trying is best to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerard Sutherland showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Dungy fails to land the takedown. Dungy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Dungy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dungy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dungy tries to clinch but Sutherland moves away and Sutherland counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dungy wants to sweep here but Sutherland controlling him for the moment. Sutherland looking to sit in guard and control but Dungy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sutherland is pulling down on Dungy's head. It's preventing any offense from Dungy, at least for the moment. Sutherland throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sutherland manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sutherland goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dungy is on top in guard.
Sutherland lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dungy! Dungy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sutherland with the ground and pound from mount. Dungy is desperately trying to improve his position but Sutherland has a good base and remains in mount. Sutherland won't let Dungy get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Sutherland landing strikes from the mount.

Gerard Sutherland has got the better of the ground game so far. Dungy looking to control.
Sutherland has gone for a leg lock! Dungy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sutherland's guard. Sutherland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dungy is one step ahead there. Sutherland thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sutherland is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sutherland preventing the sweep. Sutherland scoring with some ground and pound. Dungy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sutherland throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dungy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sutherland wants to control from the top but Dungy keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dungy cracks Sutherland with an open hand slap. Dungy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sutherland. Sutherland obviously looking to wear him down.
Sutherland circles away from the clinch attempt and Sutherland counters with a lovely straight right hand! Melvin Dungy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dungy misses with a body punch
and Sutherland holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Dungy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Gerard Sutherland comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sutherland has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
