Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Dex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Benevidi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benevidi has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Dex! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jake Benevidi! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benevidi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dex moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dex tries to clinch but Benevidi is having none of it. Benevidi misses with a two punch combination.
A swing and a miss from Benevidi. Benevidi shoots in but no luck this time. Dex clinches up against the cage. Dex drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Benevidi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Benevidi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dex uses from the top position. Dex wants to control from the top but Benevidi keeps moving. Dex wanted to stand there but Benevidi had control of the position. Dex trying to control but Benevidi is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dex in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Benevidi is pulling down on Dex's head. It's preventing any offense from Dex, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dex wants to control from the top but Benevidi keeps moving. Dex tries to stand but Benevidi is controlling from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Benevidi misses with a low kick.
Benevidi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Dex lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dex. Benevidi looks gassed! Dex throws a nice outside leg kick. Benevidi throws the left hand but Dex avoids the punch easily. Dex drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dex stands up and beckons Benevidi to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dex has his takedown stuffed and Benevidi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Benevidi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dex trying to control but Benevidi postures up.
Dex is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Benevidi missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dex is trying to control but can't.
Benevidi winds up and cracks Dex with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dex trying to control from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Benevidi misses with a double jab
and Dex counters with a thumping low kick. Benevidi misses with a wild body shot. A punch combination from Dex misses. Dex lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dex fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitry Dex. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dex connects with a solid leg kick. Benevidi gets the takedown into side control. An elbow from Benevidi crashes against the mat.
Dex is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Benevidi lands some shots froms side control. Dex tries to improve position but can't. Benevidi tries for a kimura but Dex is defending well. Dex is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Benevidi off and has taken his back! Dex struggling to land strikes to the head as Benevidi covers up. Benevidi rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Benevidi keeping control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Benevidi will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Benevidi moves out of range as Dex strikes. No joy there for Benevidi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Benevidi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dex counters with an inside leg kick. Dex drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dex accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dex wants to control from the top but Benevidi keeps moving. Dex would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benevidi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dex has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Benevidi is proving hard to escape from. Benevidi keeping moving, preventing Dex from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Benevidi throws a right hand that Dex ducks under and follows up with a left that Dex also avoids with ease. Dex wants to clinch and Benevidi counters with a straight right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dex scores with a one two! Benevidi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Benevidi throws a nice looking combination but Dex bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Benevidi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dex backs up against the cage.
Dex shoots in and drives through. Benevidi sprawls well. Dex's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dex duly obliges. Benevidi getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Dmitry Dex is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Benevidi digs a good body shot into Dex's ribs. Benevidi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dex. Jake Benevidi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benevidi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Dex wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

He hasn't managed just yet though. Benevidi misses with a head shot. Dex uses the momentum to regain guard. Dex is trying to control the position but Benevidi postures up. Benevidi looking to sit in guard and control but Dex gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Benevidi pushes Dex off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Benevidi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dex swivels and escapes. Dex bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dex looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dex stands up and beckons Benevidi to his feet. Dex lands with a straight right. Benevidi didn't see that one coming. Benevidi scores with a hook to the body. Dex takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Dex wants to clinch. Dex plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dmitry Dex dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Benevidi scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Dex fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dex shoots in looking for a takedown. Benevidi tries to sprawl out of it but Dex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Benevidi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Benevidi throws a body kick the misses and Dex counters with a single leg into guard. Benevidi didn't expect that. Dex wants to stand but Benevidi is controlling his posture from full guard. Dex wants to stand and escape but instead Benevidi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Benevidi showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Benevidi is looking to work some ground and pound but Dex has wrist control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dex controls Benevidi momentarily but Benevidi frees himself. Dex utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Benevidi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dex is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dex is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dex shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Benevidi as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitry Dex. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dex tries to clinch up but Benevidi circles away and keeps his distance. Benevidi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Benevidi looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dex is avoiding damage well.
Benevidi tries for a kimura but Dex is defending well. Dex managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Benevidi.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dex is looking for a sweep. Dex is not content to let Benevidi control the position. Benevidi misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Benevidi grinds an elbow into Dex's temple. Benevidi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dex sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dex is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dex closes the distance looking to clinch and Benevidi counters with a two punch combo. Benevidi slips a jab and a cross from Dex.
Benevidi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Dex walks into a straight right hand from Benevidi. Dex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Benevidi paws at him with a jab and circles away. Benevidi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Benevidi throws and elbow that misses. Dex uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Benevidi's guard. Nice move by Dex! Benevidi keeping moving, preventing Dex from controlling successfully. Dex wants to stand and escape but instead Benevidi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jake Benevidi. I think Benevidi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
