Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brent Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MATT SERRA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). SERRA has chosen ENTER SANDMAN as his entrance music. Brent Jackson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to MATT SERRA's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brent Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, MATT SERRA!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SERRA drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jackson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Jackson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson is trying to maintain the position but SERRA is very close to passing his half guard.
Jackson looks like he's trying to stand up.
SERRA thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head.
SERRA wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. SERRA manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jackson won't allow SERRA to sweep him here.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. SERRA swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
SERRA manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

SERRA postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
SERRA shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
SERRA tries to improve position but can't.
Jackson staying calm.

Jackson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but SERRA is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders SERRA to his feet.

Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but SERRA is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


SERRA with a lazy takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
SERRA wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.

and SERRA decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard.
SERRA must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jackson is trying to control the position but SERRA postures up.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but SERRA can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

SERRA decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

SERRA fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.
SERRA is trying to break the clinch but Jackson is controlling him.

Jackson decides to pull guard.

SERRA really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control.
SERRA is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

SERRA shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
SERRA fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

MATT SERRA showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

SERRA looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jackson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
SERRA throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jackson because SERRA loaded up on that one.
Jackson is trying desperately to improve position.
SERRA misses with a head shot.

Jackson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Brent Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

SERRA thows a big elbow that misses.

SERRA might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jackson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

SERRA drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackson dives on top into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jackson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Jackson gets to his feet - SERRA follows without any prompting.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but SERRA sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

SERRA clinches.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in SERRA's guard now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

SERRA wants to stand but Jackson is controlling the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brent Jackson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
