Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fighting Baby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forrest Lion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forrest Lion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fighting Baby!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lion lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baby circles away quickly and effectively.
Baby shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Forrest Lion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lion misses with a takedown attempt

and Baby counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Baby.

Lion is looking for a triangle but Baby pushes his legs off easily.
Lion looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baby is one step ahead there.

Baby got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lion has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baby has managed to get both his arms back between Lion's legs - danger averted.
Baby postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Baby working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Baby throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lion trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Lion is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lion keeping moving, preventing Baby from controlling successfully.

Baby throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Baby scoring with punches to the head and body.
Baby with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Baby cracks Lion with a solid left hand.
Baby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lion swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lion kicks Baby off and gets to his feet.
Lion walks into a left hand.
Lion shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Baby counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lion won't be happy with that.
Lion is breathing heavily.
Lion tries to improve position but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baby fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Baby tries to score with some ground and pound. Lion controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Baby cracks Lion with a big right hand but Lion just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Baby lands a nice forearm strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baby misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Lion defending against the ground and pound.
Lion is looking for a sweep.
Baby wants to stand but Lion has his arm trapped.
Lion is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Baby trying to control the position but Lion is working away.

Baby landing strikes.
Baby in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lion tries for a takedown but Baby circles away easily
letting Baby counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forrest Lion. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Baby tries to clinch there but Lion circles away.
Baby sizes up Lion with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Baby shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lion is trying to defend but Baby finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Baby is looking to take a break and control but Lion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, if Baby is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Baby is keen to just control but Lion is a slippery customer.
Lion keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Baby wants to pass to mount but Lion is defending the position.
Baby drops an elbow to the side of Lion's head.
Baby really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lion. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baby not doing much here.

Lion makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fighting Baby dominated that round.

Lion throws a left and a right that both miss

and Baby counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Baby pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lion is keeping the position for now.

Lion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baby defends well.

Baby is looking to work some ground and pound but Lion has wrist control.
Lion keeping moving, preventing Baby from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Baby scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lion keeping full guard, as Baby tries to pass.

Baby trying to control the position from guard on top but Lion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Baby wants to stand and escape but instead Lion has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lion is one step ahead there.

Lion is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Baby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Baby has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lion can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Baby scores with a nice head shot.

Baby feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Baby stands up over Lion, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Baby looks to land a combination. Lion sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Baby gets the takedown into side control.

Baby sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lion is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lion tries to bench press Baby off him but Baby keeps the position.
Baby landing strikes.
Lion is not content to let Baby control the position.
Lion is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Baby is controlling him well.
Baby cracks Lion with a big right hand but Lion just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lion pushes Baby away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Baby gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Baby wants to control but Lion is keeping him busy.
Lion is trying to get back to half guard.
Baby working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fighting Baby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lion avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lion keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Baby ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Baby decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Lion wants to control but Baby is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lion is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Baby pulls his head out easily.
Baby wants to stand up but Lion has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Lion pushes Baby off looking to stand but Baby dives back in and keeps control.
Lion keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Baby thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Baby scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Baby trying to control the action but Lion is working from the bottom.
Baby prevents Lion from improving his position.
Baby wants to take a breather but Lion is having none of it.
Lion tries to roll over but Baby keeps him under control.
Baby is keen to just control but Lion is a slippery customer.

Baby seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lion is refusing to be controlled, as Baby sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Baby wants to clinch up but Lion keeps it at a distance.

Baby looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lion!
Fighting Baby has got the better of the ground game so far.
Baby can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lion is looking to escape.
Lion is in all sorts of trouble here.

Lion is in a horrible position here. Baby smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lion is looking to improve his position but Baby isn't that keen on the idea.

Lion is desperately trying to improve his position but Baby has a good base and remains in mount.
Baby is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lion can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lion wants to control but Baby is having none of it.
Fighting Baby is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Baby lands a big shot there that rocks Lion but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Baby looking to control and managing it successfully.
Lion is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Baby cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Baby trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Baby might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lion kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fighting Baby comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Baby has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
