Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Molano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Molano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Molano.
Molano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hernandez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Molano, pushing him back against the cage.
Molano can't break the clinch.
Hernandez lands an elbow that stopped Molano in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like George Molano has been cut.
Hernandez lands with a light punch inside.

Hernandez breaks the clinch.
Molano dives in and grabs Hernandez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hernandez pushes down on Molano's head and hops out.
Hernandez fails to land the takedown.
Molano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Molano wants it to stay on the feet.

Molano shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hernandez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Molano tries to move to mount but Hernandez blocks the move with his legs.
Molano wants to stand but Hernandez has his arm trapped.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hernandez sneaks back into half guard.
Hernandez is trying to get back to full guard.
Molano lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hernandez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Molano pulls his head out easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hernandez is staying active underneath Molano, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Molano content to control rather than advance.

Molano decides to stand and escape the position.
Hernandez shoots in looking for a takedown. Molano tries to sprawl out of it but Hernandez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Molano manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
George Molano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Hernandez.

and Hernandez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Molano's guard.

Hernandez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Molano is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Molano has escaped and now he's on top!

Molano prevents Hernandez from getting back to his feet.

Hernandez pushes Molano off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Molano tries to clinch but Hernandez is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hernandez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Molano sprawls well initially but Hernandez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Molano is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hernandez is trying to control. Molano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hernandez not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Molano wants to get back to full guard.
Hernandez wants to pass to mount but Molano is defending the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Hernandez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on George Molano's cut.
That's time! Molano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hernandez clinches.
Molano wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hernandez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hernandez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hernandez rushes Molano and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Molano jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hernandez walks away with a smile on his face. Molano gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hernandez tries to clinch but Molano moves out of range.
Molano doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hernandez counters with a head kick. That will keep Molano thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Molano counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hernandez has a hand on Molano's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Molano takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Molano tries to control but Hernandez wriggling away.
Hernandez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Hernandez is not content to let Molano control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hernandez is trying to stand.
Molano is keen to just control but Hernandez is a slippery customer.
Molano throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Molano is thwarting Hernandez's attempts to control the position.
Hernandez is trying to stand back up but Molano is controlling him

Hernandez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Molano scores with a jab to the body.

Hernandez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Molano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Molano takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hernandez tries to close the distance and clinch but Molano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Molano is looking to clinch but Hernandez is avoiding it.
Molano wants to clinch up but Hernandez keeps it at a distance.
Molano misses with a takedown
and Hernandez counters with a head kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Molano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hernandez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Molano napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Molano tries to bench press Hernandez off him but Hernandez keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Molano tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Molano's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Hernandez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Hernandez gets the takedown into side control.
Molano is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hernandez connects with a decent elbow.

Hernandez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Molano to his feet.
Molano tries a head kick but it misses.

and Hernandez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Hernandez decides to return to a standing position.

Hernandez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hernandez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Molano!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee warns Molano that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hernandez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Molano manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hernandez stands up.

Hernandez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Molano is looking to stand up but Hernandez won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Molano is working Hernandez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hernandez is working an open guard so Molano takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Molano counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hernandez!

Hernandez tries to lock up and control but Molano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Molano is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hernandez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hernandez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hernandez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hernandez tries to lock up and control but Molano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

George Molano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Darren Hernandez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hernandez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
