Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raaka Arska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko has chosen Fort minor - Remember the name as his entrance music. Raaka Arska has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raaka Arska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arska throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut. Arska misses with a straight right. Emelianenko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Emelianenko is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Arska. Arska shoots in but no luck this time. No joy there for Arska, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Arska shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Arska stopping the sweep attempt from Emelianenko. Arska stands up and waves to Emelianenko to follow him. This has been an exciting period of action! Arska lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Emelianenko backs up against the cage.
Arska tries to close the distance and clinch up but Emelianenko swats him away and circles back towards the center. Arska fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Emelianenko is out of range. Arska lands a with a good body shot. Arska's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Arska duly obliges.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arska tries to bum rush Emelianenko with a series of wild strikes but Emelianenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Emelianenko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arska.

Arska is looking to clinch. Emelianenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Arska counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Emelianenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Arska throws out the jab. Arska cracks the inside of Emelianenko's front leg. Emelianenko looks gassed! Arska bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Emelianenko's head. Arska is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Horrible takedown by Arska or perhaps it was just good defense by Emelianenko which made him look bad. Emelianenko moves out of range of the strikes. Emelianenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Arska.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Arska moves in looking to clinch but Emelianenko pushes him off. Arska throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Emelianenko throws out a leg kick but Arska moves out of range and Emelianenko only half commits. Left hook, right uppercut from Arska. Arska throws a jab but it's blocked by Emelianenko. Arska tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance. Arska throws a series of punches but Emelianenko avoids them all with ease. Arska paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Emelianenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Emelianenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Arska sprawls well. He's pushed Emelianenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Arska with a lazy takedown attempt and Emelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raaka Arska. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Emelianenko stops Arska from standing up. Arska is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Emelianenko keeps control of Arska as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Arska is pressed up against the cage. Emelianenko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Arska down to the mat. Arska avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Arska scores with a takedown into Emelianenko's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Arska could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Arska decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Arska swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Emelianenko counters by moving into the clinch. Arska wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Emelianenko has him pressed against the cage. Emelianenko gets underhooks to prevent Arska's takedown attempt.

Arska has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Emelianenko regains guard immediately. Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arska wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Emelianenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Arska's guard. Arska utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Arska will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Arska is looking to stand up but Emelianenko isn't so interested in that idea. Arska on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arska tries to get out of the position. Emelianenko stands up over Arska, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelianenko wants to stand but Arska has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Emelianenko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Arska kicks Emelianenko off and gets to his feet. Arska misses with a few strikes there.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Emelianenko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Arska pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Arska closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Arska lands in his opponent's guard. Arska tries to free his leg and advance position but Emelianenko is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emelianenko circles away from the clinch attempt and Emelianenko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Emelianenko is working for takedown but Arska is calmly controlling the position for now. Emelianenko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Arska fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Arska throws a body kick the misses and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Arska won't be happy with that. Arska tries to improve position but can't. Emelianenko working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

He's almost out here... but no, Emelianenko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Emelianenko cracks Arska with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Arska tries to get back to half guard but can't. Arska knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Emelianenko on the ground. Arska wants to get back to his feet. Arska trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Arska tries to buck Emelianenko off but Emelianenko is having none of it. Emelianenko lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Arska down.
Arska tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Emelianenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Emelianenko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arska, who protects the arm well. Arska can't do much from the bottom here. Emelianenko working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Arska seems to have got his legs back now. Emelianenko in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Emelianenko prevents Arska from escaping the position. Emelianenko moves into full mount! Emelianenko cracks Arska with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Raaka Arska is winning the standup battle so far. Arska looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Fedor Emelianenko's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
