Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Gibbons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hammer Fire! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire throws a series of strikes that have Gibbons backpedaling.
Fire throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Fire lands a with a good body shot. Fire misses with a head kick.
Gibbons fails with a takedown attempt. Fire cracks Gibbons with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fire sizes up Gibbons with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hammer Fire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Gibbons. Horrible takedown by Gibbons or perhaps it was just good defense by Fire which made him look bad. Gibbons scores with a kick to the body.
Gibbons takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gibbons shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Gibbons. That's going to take a lot out of him. A nice leg kick lands there from Fire. Gibbons is breathing heavily. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Fire - that will leave a mark!
Fire lands a with a good body shot. Fire with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire misses with a head kick.
Fire throws a head kick but Gibbons moves out of range.
Fire throws a series of strikes that have Gibbons backpedaling.
Whack! Fire lands a heavy head kick that drops Gibbons. The ref tackles Fire to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gibbons was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Hammer Fire!
