Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean LeSac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LeSac's waist but LeSac gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Phoenix off to one side.
Phoenix shoots in for a takedown but LeSac shows good takedown defense.
Phoenix misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jean LeSac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Phoenix.

LeSac feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
LeSac is looking to work some ground and pound but Phoenix has wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

LeSac bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Phoenix's guard.

LeSac postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Phoenix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LeSac, into his guard.

Phoenix thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Phoenix fails with the takedown

and LeSac counters with a shoot takedown. Phoenix fights it but they end up in guard.
Phoenix not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

LeSac is looking for submissions but instead, Phoenix has regained full guard.

Phoenix pulls LeSac in close to prevent any damage.

LeSac sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Phoenix's guard.
LeSac seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
LeSac is trying to control the action in half guard but Phoenix is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
LeSac has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jean LeSac showed his dominance in that final round.
Well LeSac has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
