Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stanley Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul comes to the cage accompanied by The Un. Stanley Paul looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul shoots for a takedown but Boom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Paul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boom shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Boom throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Paul avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boom. Paul has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boom is working away from the top position though. Nice strikes from Boom there. Boom looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Paul is looking for a sweep. Boom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Paul on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Boom is trying to control the action in half guard but Paul is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Paul blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boom. Boom working the head and body with strikes. Paul tries to roll over but Boom keeps him under control. Boom thows a huge punch but Paul dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paul's head. Paul taking some punishment here, with Boom in his half guard. Boom working Paul over with strikes. Boom controlling the action here. Boom throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Paul avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boom. Paul has hold of Boom's hands but Boom slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Paul trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paul wants to get back to his feet. Paul is breathing heavily. Boom missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boom gets the takedown into side control. Paul is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom is working Paul over with some ground and pound from side control. Boom in side control lands a decent elbow. Paul is working to avoid the ground and pound but Boom connects with a decent elbow. Boom cracks Paul with an elbow. That is naaassty. Paul is not content to let Boom control the position. Boom looks up at the clock and then as Paul takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Boom smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom laying and praying for a moment but Paul takes advantage and regains half guard. Boom is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Paul is trying to stand up here but Boom is controlling him well. Boom lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Boom is keen to just control but Paul is a slippery customer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boom drops an elbow to the side of Paul's head. Boom throwing shots but Paul is blocking nicely. Boom is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Paul moves into full guard.
Paul is trying to control the position but Boom postures up. Boom trying to control but Paul is working from the bottom. Boom looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Boom controls Paul momentarily but Paul frees himself. Paul postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boom is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Boom dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Boom swats away the attempt to clinch by Paul. Paul tries for a takedown but Boom circles away easily and Boom counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paul's guard now. Boom must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boom is working Paul over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Boom works over Paul with some ground and pound from guard. Boom scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Boom throwing strikes from guard but Paul blocks nicely. Boom postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boom working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boom tries to free his leg and advance position but Paul is retaining full guard. Boom chips away with some ground and pound. Boom scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Boom in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bas Boom has got the better of the ground game so far. Boom passes into half guard. Boom is keen to just control but Paul is a slippery customer. Paul blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boom. Boom scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ground and pound from Boom. Boom scoring with strikes to the body and head. Boom missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Paul is holding on to half guard well. Paul is trying to get back to full guard. Paul on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Paul tries to get out of the position. Boom drops an elbow to the side of Paul's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Paul blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boom. Boom landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Paul wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boom shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paul but Paul pushes him off and we're back to square one. Boom looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Paul will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Paul keeping moving, preventing Boom from controlling successfully. Boom won't allow Paul to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul is working hard here to advance position. Boom makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boom keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Paul's head. Boom trying to control the position from guard on top but Paul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boom distracts Paul with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boom fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Paul gets caught flat footed, as Boom shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Boom wants to pass the guard but Paul is keeping the position. Boom postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Paul manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paul working the ground and pound effectively.

Boom is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Paul goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Boom turns into him and now he's in Paul's guard.

Bas Boom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Paul fails in his attempt to clinch. Boom fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boom misses with a takedown and Paul counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Boom is looking to improve his position.

Paul fails with the takedown and Boom decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Paul's guard. Boom postures up and lands a big shot to Paul's brow. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boom's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Boom is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Paul controls Boom momentarily but Boom frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Boom won't allow Paul to sweep him here. Boom works a leg free and moves into half guard. Boom slips a nice elbow through Paul's hands, connecting with Paul's forehead. Boom thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Paul blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boom. The fighters are battling for position here. Paul manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Boom chips away with some ground and pound. Boom trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Paul wants to stand but Boom is controlling the position. Boom stands and throws Paul's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom trying to control the action but Paul is working from the bottom. Boom throws an elbow but Paul slips to the side and avoids it well. Paul gets back to half guard. Paul taking some punishment here, with Boom in his half guard. Boom missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Boom working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Boom thows a huge punch but Paul dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Boom wants to take a breather but Paul is having none of it. Paul keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Stanley Paul has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Paul makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paul. Boom throwing strikes but missing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Paul shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Boom counters with a single leg into guard. Paul didn't expect that. Boom is in close to Paul's body, working some short punches and elbows. Boom throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paul works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Paul will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Boom throws and elbow that misses. Paul uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boom's guard. Nice move by Paul! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boom looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Paul puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Bas Boom comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Boom winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
