Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derek Boase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Askar kokenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derek Boase has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derek Boase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Askar kokenov! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! kokenov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boase circles away. A solid leg kick lands there for Boase.
Boase defends well against a solid takedown attempt from kokenov. Boase shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in kokenov's guard. Boase looking to pass the guard. Boase content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Boase stopping the sweep attempt from kokenov. Boase drops back looking for a leg! kokenov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and kokenov manages to kick Boase off! Boase jumps back into kokenov's guard. Boase postures up.
kokenov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boase can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boase trying to control the position from guard on top but kokenov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boase trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. kokenov controls Boase momentarily but Boase frees himself. Boase stays in close to kokenov's body and controls the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boase bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on kokenov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boase tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Boase lands a nice forearm strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. kokenov gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Boase in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. kokenov looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Boase lands an elbow to the side of the head. Boase scores with punches to the body. kokenov looks gassed! Boase is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at kokenov. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Boase avoiding kokenov 's attempts to control his hands. Boase is landing with strikes from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boase lands shots from the back. Boase is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. kokenov has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Boase has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! kokenov taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Boase doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Derek Boase!
