Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, serenity ahr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Davies! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ahr misses with a jab, cross combination.
ahr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. ahr working away. ahr prevents Davies from escaping the position. Davies struggling a bit here. Davies tries to buck ahr off but ahr is having none of it. Davies can't do much from the bottom here. ahr is breathing heavily. Davies is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but ahr is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Davies tries to get back to half guard but can't. Davies holds on for dear life, controlling ahr's posture momentarily. ahr looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davies swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Davies can't escape the position.
Davies is squirming around, avoiding ahr's attempts to control the action. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davies can do anything to dispel that myth. Davies keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
ahr avoids the attempt from Davies to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Davies is wriggling around trying to escape.
Davies tries to hold on but ahr postures up. Davies really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
ahr trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davies wants to hold on but ahr pushes him away. ahr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. ahr is looking to stand but ahr has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Davies tries to lock up and control but ahr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Davies is wriggling around trying to escape.
ahr lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Davies hang on? Davies wants to control but ahr is having none of it. ahr prevents Davies from getting the reversal. Davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with ahr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. ahr controlling the position easily from mount. ahr manages to capitalize on a mistake by Davies to take his back! Davies tries to escape but ahr has the hooks in and won't let him break free. ahr has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Davies is defending well but eventually ahr manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Davies has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
